Understanding Intent Rather than Messages
Understanding Intent Rather than Messages
The word intent:
1. the act or fact of intending: PURPOSE especially: the design or purpose to commit
2. the state of mind with which an act is done
Merriam-Webster, I. (2003). Merriam-Webster’s collegiate dictionary. (Eleventh ed.). Springfield, MA: Merriam-Webster, Inc.
In the beginning God created the earth and the heavens. Then He created man, with the intent left for us to look at.
Merriam-Webster, I. (2003). Merriam-Webster’s collegiate dictionary. (Eleventh ed.). Springfield, MA: Merriam-Webster, Inc.
This matter of intent is very important. When you look at art, you can only guess at what the artist intended for their work. God is letting us know His intent for us.
When we miss the intent of what God wanted, we will always be confused. Think of religions, built on ceremonies that aren’t truly biblical because the interpretation was lacking, thus the application is totally a mess.
I want us to focus on these words:
colony
colonization
ambassadorship
embassy
Throughout history when we look at these words there is always pain. The colonization of the Americas and the slaughter of the Natives, the colonization of Africa and other countries met with slaughter, slaves, and oppression.
But this is not the facts when it comes to God’s program (intent) this was man’s under the direction of Satan ways.
The record by Moses is very clear, we were to dominate the earth and the animals, but let’s take a look a bit closer at what is taking place.
God has set up His Kingdom (headquarters) in heaven and then created the earth, but does something different.
You see He is ruling heaven and yes it is still true that the earth is the LORD’s and the fullness there of, but He say’s “Let man dominate this area.” “I am placing my image (man) on earth to govern this place to colonize this place and make it resemble what is going on here in heaven.
So God places man in the what is called the garden (training ground) for what He wants the rest of the earth to look, act, and behave like. Eden was ground zero for us to get it together, to understand and implement God’s Intent.
When you colonize an area, the area does not take over the people that is colonizing it. In other words, the area takes the form of whoever is in charge. Take a look at what Jesus said about yeast.
New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update Chapter 13
He spoke another parable to them, “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened.”
The yeast did not become flour, it took over and made it change.
This is what we as ambassadors of Christ supposed to be doing. We are supposed to be infecting the world (systems) with the principles of God and not the ways of man.
Take a look at what God said about the earth.
New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update Chapter 45
For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it, He established it and did not create it a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited),
“I am the LORD, and there is none else.
The heavens are the heavens of the LORD,
But the earth He has given to the sons of men.
But the earth He has given to the sons of men.
New American Standard Bible: 1995 update. (1995). (). La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation.
This means a few things:
The earth must be inhabited
Heaven ain’t yours
So manage what was given to you
The word of God must be meet.
Quit trying to leave the earth without fulfilling your earthly assignment
New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update Chapter 4
2 Timothy 4:7
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;
We all can’t say this if we aren’t doing our purpose that God intended for us.
If you are so quick to leave you end up robbing the next generation of purpose and missing God’s intent
