Intro.
Intro level stuff
Can not cover everything
Hit the main points

What Are the Options?

Illusion
We don’t actually exist
Have been a few philosophers to go there
Self-Creation
Chance creation
Universe invented itself
This is not logical
Chance Creation
Big Bang
Everything from Nothing
Breaks the 2nd law of Thermodynamics
Self-Existent Being Created
Only one of these is true
We are presupposing that the Universe was created and that the God of the Bible was that Being - and that is what I intend to demonstrate

The Argument of Cause

Everything must have a cause except the first cause
How do we know there was a builder for this building?
How do we know there was a manufacturer for your car?
How do we know that a painting has a painter?
How do we know that the universe has a creator?
Where does God come from?
Review the law of casuality
Let’s say that someone had to create God - That would make him a bigger God - As you trace that logic - you must come to a God that is infinite
Whoever created the first uncaused cause must be:
The Creator of time must be eternal
The Creator of space must be spaceless (Outside of space) (infinite)
The Creator of love must be loving
The Creator of morality must be perfect
The Creator of complexity must be omniscient
The Creator of interrelationships must be omnipresent
The Creator of boundless energy must be omnipotent
This is how the Bible describes God
Exodus 3:14 ESV
God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you.’ ”
Psalm 90:2 ESV
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
If God was created then He is not worthy of worship
This universe must come from something that is infinite - God
Understand that before Einstein - Science argued for a self-existent universe
The theory of relativity proved that the Bible was true and there was a beginning

The Argument of Cause

The Argument of Design

If God created the universe then there should be evidence of design
Ask yourself this question - Do explosions create order?

Fine-Tuning

Everything about life and existence depend upon things being exactly right
There are many examples of the fine - tuning of the universe but I will give you just a few
The sun’s color - if it varied in color - photosynthesis on earth would struggle
The size of the sun - the planets would no orbit correctly
The position of Jupiter - If it wasn’t for Jupiter - we would fly into the sun
Our distance from the sun
Ratio of protons to electrons - Any different and molecules could not form
Any change to the gravitational constant or any other scientific constant - nothing exists (nuclear, weak, electrical)
Change the earth rotation or axis - life can not be supported
Speed of light - Change it and stars can not exist
The existence and distance of the moon
Existence of pollenators

Complexity of Life

At the time of the formation of the the theory of evolution, cells were thought to be little bags of jelly - as our technology increases - so does our understanding that life is much more complex than what we first believed
Life is not only complex but diverse
A single cell, contains 1000’s of simultaneous chemical reactions
The biochemical processes
Video
Beyond this symbiotic relationships - Bees
I am scratching the surface

DNA

Matter that contains information -
Picture it as a book of instructions on how to make a human, cat, ect.
Matter does not produce information
Slide with a quote from Bill Gates

Science, Math, and Laws

Where do laws come from?
Laws have law givers
Consider order in math and nature
Consider the repeatability

The Argument of Morality

God is the objective point:
Illuss.: Am I white? Hold up a white piece of paper.
There must be a standard
Morals must come from somewhere
If there is no God - There is no good - there is no evil
Video
Illuss.: Witnessing to an atheist in church. Is it OK for me to kill my child?
If God doesn’t exist - then Hitler is not evil
God has set the standard
Romans 2:15 ESV
They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them
Romans 1:18–25 ESV
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
Romans 1 ESV
1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, 2 which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures, 3 concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh 4 and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, 5 through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations, 6 including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ, 7 To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world. 9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you 10 always in my prayers, asking that somehow by God’s will I may now at last succeed in coming to you. 11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— 12 that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. 13 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that I have often intended to come to you (but thus far have been prevented), in order that I may reap some harvest among you as well as among the rest of the Gentiles. 14 I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. 15 So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. 28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Why Do Atheist

Romans 1
If God created this universe and us there are pretty big implications
He created for purpose
He is involved in His creation
He is personal
We are accountable to our creator - we are not in charge
