Introduction
Let me give you a short introduction of myself and my history with this church.
My name is Kyle Niewald. Some of you may have known me from camp when I was a youth pastor at New Life Church. Our teams were together and on our free time brought some sneaky cards.
I have a wife and 2 kids. My first, is a girl who is 2. My second is a boy who would have been 4 months old today. However, God has extended his legacy in a very unique way.
I've taken some time off and I currently work in the freezer of a distribution center working in a -30 degree climate for 12 hours a day. To put it to you this way, it is so cold in there that when I bring a bottle of water it freezers after 20 minutes. Another way to put it to you, is that a coworker, who trained me, was working hard and did not pay attention to his body. At break, he slide his glove off and found that his hand was frozen. He knocked it on the table and it sounded like glass. Needless to say, he had to go to the emergency room.
Anyways, not many people can say this but I had attended this church before Pastor Pool came here. The pastor's name was Mr. Countryman and the church was on Rankin road. When Pastor came in we multiplied and brought this property we are on now. The church built this building and all of the services were here in the gym. Soon after that they built the main sanctuary.
I love this church. I love it because I got saved right here (Point to middle of Mpact floor). I met my mentor right here (Point to Den) who led me to a deeper relationship with Jesus (and still to this day). I spoke in tongues for the first time with this group on my first mission trip. Which may I add, do you guys know that our homeless ministry was started by the youth group? Our group came back, saw a need, and filled it! Just because you are young does not mean you can't change peoples lives. I met my wife in the foyer. I married her in the main sanctuary. And finally thanks to your church's generosity we had comfort after our funeral service in the green room.
I say all of this not to boast my past in connection with this church but to boast for the church. This is a wonderful church stay, learn, and grow in under amazing leadership.
I have seen many leaders come out of the church and you don’t have to be a pastor to be a leader. Don't just come to service. Learn and engage. Find a mentor who can grow you. Ask Weston what you can do to help and ask the new Youth Pastor when he comes as well. But most of all, break out from your groups and talk to others here. Don't be afraid to invite people, that's why I am here today is because someone invited me to Mpact.
