WEDNESDAY: 16/01/2019 TOPIC: ASK AND BE GIVEN If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him! Luke 11:13 One day I wake up and realize I have nothing on me though I was given money not long ago, and I know perfectly that when I ask for it, they will also ask me how I used the money sent to me recently. But I can't also stay without money that day because I have nothing at all and what to eat will be a problem. So I told myself, let me just ask, whatever that will happen at the end should happen. I called and ask, but for about three hours, nothing happened so I called again. This time, it was a surprise to me, I received more than what was supposed to be given to me. Now, one thing I got from this was 1. I ask for it. Have I not ask that day, they wouldn't know am in need. 2. Through persistence, I received. Have I not called again, I wouldn't receive it. OK, so then let me draw your attention to this: The Bible says we should ask and it will be given, seek and you will find, knock and it shall be open. (Matthew 7:7-8, Luke 11:9-10) Meaning we need not to be in need or lack anything since when we ask it will be given to us. Here I find one interesting thing Jesus said to his Disciples in Luke 11:8. *'I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.'* Which confirm my persistence during my time of need. This brings the attention to the fact that, we don't just ask one relax but we keep on asking till we receive it. Jesus again talking to his Disciples said *If you then, being evil, know how to give good gift...* This refers to that fact that even our earthly parent which are filled with evil thoughts at times know how to give good thing then how much more our Heavenly Father? In this way, we ask God with faith that we will receive and indeed we will receive it just as you ask your mommy to buy you something when returning from work and then believe that she will bought it for you. Your faith and believe of getting that thing work for you. Have faith and believe that whatever you ask the father will be given to you. Jesus Christ Is The Reason The World; My Parish Matth Adenyo
