TOPIC: FORGIVE AND BE FORGIVEN
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
Matthew 6:12
I was once watching a movie and got to know something that inspires me much. In the movie, a young man want to take a revenge on the death of his father, those who murdered his father got to know and knew they cannot do anything to stop him so they all decided to approach him for forgiveness; the man accepted their plea in front of them but deep within his heart, is not so.
One day, he started his revenge journey and unfortunately for him, he mistaken someone else for the person he want?
Here, I asked myself, will he also be forgiven even when he ask for it?
Now let look at the story at this point of view, when Jesus was teaching his Disciples about prayer and He got to the forgiving part, He said, Forgive us...... As we forgive.....
Meaning when we want forgiveness, we must first forgive whosoever that have wrong us. So what of if we don't forgive, meaning we will also not be forgive.
Brethren, I want you to know this morning that the world is such a place that whatever you throw at the wall bounce back to you who threw it.
What that person did to you that you purpose not to forgive him or her thinking you will not do it to others is the same thing that one day you will find yourself doing to someone else.
Some of us in one way or the other have offend others and want them to let it go while what others did to us, we don't want to let it go.
Please let it go and you will also be forgiven.
Walk out today with a clean and fresh mind not to remember what other have done to you. In this way, yours too will be remembered no more.
God bless you and keep you safe
May he grant you the strength to let go what other might have done to you.
Amen
