We're going to continue our lesson tonight in the series on the book of habakkuk the book. We don't often read that much got only about three chapters in if I'm not mistaken, but it is an awesome book and it has a modern Flair to it. So there's some Modern applications is Tony chosen their title practical application in the world today. There are congregations in the world that worship tonight. but that was a big deal back then and it caused a split and so what are things I start thinking about as I was stating his lesson was what's the church going to look like when you and I were gone? Did they think it would look like what you and I are doing tonight preaching from laptops and computers and off of monitor screens and the light is nothing wrong with any of this. But I am convinced there are things that you and I can do today to Aid the Church of Tomorrow alone, even though it doesn't look like what we think and there's something that might happen in the future that you and I think are worth splitting over today. For those that Worship in households could have found the same type of spirituality and pursuit of God's word in the assemblies that we have today. So those that are faithful members of the Lord's Church.

Who are the ones being disciplined? I think that's where tonight we need to ask ourselves a question. And consider God's response. Are we the one God or a razor? Are we the one God is disciplining? Discipline for what they did and then n Judah certainly is God people that came from David a people after God's Own Heart and but he's raising. Bible discipline Judah and a day will come and that we will learn all that we know of as hindsight being 20-20 a day will come when God will raise up the medes and the Persians. the discipline Babylonian, I think we really seriously have to ask ourselves a question. Are we the ones being raised? We the ones being disciplined. And with quick if we cannot determine if we need to do we need to look at what are we doing? That will help us to understand whether we need to be disciplined. Or whether we need to be raised and only arrogance would have you try not to be a part of this equation. Because it is generally what God is at work at the top.

Because he's raising up a people. for himself doing that along the way some have to be disciplined.

As far as the personal application is concerned. Let me do this.

You know Jeremiah has Lamentations my Barry has some Lamentations 2. These are some things that I lament that I see the first is the first as far as the general description I see and hear Too Much in God in our world today. I'm not the world's judge. I just talked about what Barry says he's in the world today and I'm having the church to this not excluding the church is a personal application and there are ways that you can see this disbelief. You can see disbelieve in people's action. People do what they want to do people do what benefits them people do what they believe it. You know my analogy all the time right when I go to work. Why we pursue that girl because we think that's that's going to be good for us. Right? Why do we do the things that we do because we feel it's going to benefit us a man. You can see it through our thoughts the things that we think And there are things that determine or trying to choose my words carefully here. There are things that help shape our thoughts. Television the internet are Music Entertainment our the people we choose to hang around with you don't know where I'm going with this so you can see it in our thoughts and and those things that we choose to shape how we think are not.

And it is going to cause us to be on the discipline side of the people that God is Raising.

Let me say this while I'm sitting here standing at the moment. Of the world has been very effective in belittling lessening the authority of Christianity in the world. Would you agree with that? If you would agree with that, but you also should also agree with their methods and their motives. and the methods and their motives are the things that I just mention to you television movies entertainment music it is that not right? Is it not what they do what they do with the internet all those things right now. If it in an effort to because my heart is so much on our future and where we're going. Those same vehicle those same methods. I'm not exclusive to our enemies.

We don't have to leave that for them to you. And it's been defective for them to shape and mold the minds of the people in the world today.

So why can't we use the internet and videos and things like that to help and shape and mold them eyes as well. It has to be done a certain way. I would I would agree. I'm telling you to look at the methods and take that the scripture says and taken captive for Christ make the captive for Christ. And so there's a way for us to do that. Same thing as well help the way that people think so that they can be on the raisin side instead of discipline side all the time. We need discipline right spirit all of that discipline out and there's no discipline is not hopeless me. If it's not condemnation. But it's not neither. And so many of them are bemoaning the idea of churches eliminating assembly eliminating services, but not just happening in the Churches of Christ. They're not they don't have the commitment from their memberships to continue doing that to me. I can't take all the credit financing special my buddy brother Shepherd.
