As you sacrificially worship and intentionally walk with Christ, you will be compelled with self-forgetful love to work for Christ with the gifts He graciously gives.
Work For Christ:
1) HOW? BEGIN WITH HUMILITY (3)
3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
2) WHERE? BEGIN HERE (4-5)
4 For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
3) WHY? BEGIN HAPPY (6-8)
6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; 7 if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; 8 the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
In forthtelling, your joy in Christ overflows with prophecy. (6b)
In sacrifice, your joy in Christ overflows with service. (7a)
In speaking, your joy in Christ overflows with teaching. (7b)
In warning, your joy in Christ overflows with exhortation. (8a)
In giving, your joy in Christ overflows with generosity.
(8b)
In leading, your joy in Christ overflows with zeal. (8c)
In mercy, your joy in Christ overflows with cheerfulness. (8d)
These descriptions are meant to show us that working for Christ is not duty or guilt driven. Your service to your King is the eager overflow of a self-forgetting, others-oriented, happy-hearted worship and walk with Jesus.
1) HUMILITY (3-5)
