Does it ever make you feel bad that when it comes to your Christianity that you are stupid? You know nothing and you have been in church for your entire life. Not only are you spiritually stupid, but you are unfaithful not to church but to the Lord. Does this bother you? Do you care? Why is the most important decision of life so often ignored the most by the followers of Him who gives eternal life. No wonder the world laughs at believers like you and me. We are not committed to Christ and on top of that we have Benedict Arnolds in our midst laughing and ridiculing the faith they give outward attendance to. You are a spiritual joke and your faith is the punch line.
II Peter 3:17-18
II Peter 3:17-18
In a book written by Josh McDowell called “Beyond Belief to Conviction”, He says and I agree that … Believing is not Enough. I know that is a loaded statement, but by the lives we live does that ring true?
Do what we believe hold under pressure … sure we have had a wonderful camp experience, the youth group activities are fun, … we have to come or else.
Has what believe been challenged not by what is hard, but by what is perceived as being better. What test us in what we believe.
Cares … Money, Education, Relationship with opposite sex, fame, cars, clothing, whatever.
Crisis … lost of a love one, divorce, unresolved teen issue.
The danger of all of these are based on subjective feelings not objective faith.
It’s not that we hate Christ … the real question is Do we LOVE Christ?
Truth is an important part of whether we can navigate through the culture we are living in today. People can’t stand and fight against Truth that is outside of themselves. We call this Absolute Truth. Truth that is true for all people for all time … Jesus Christ.
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 1
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
This absolute truth is where Christ Exists. Not in a poll, or what everyone else is doing … what does my boyfriend/girlfriend thinks or I’ll go only if they serve free pizza.
But I’m saved I don’t have to know everything or even Genesis so what if I don’t believe every little thing the Bible says … I’m still saved … TRUE
Romans 1
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Growth Follows Birth
Growth Follows Birth
Christianity is more than just “becoming a Christian”
To say otherwise would be like saying being born is all that matters. Food, development, growth, and everything else is optional … that is insane.
Why should we care more about our Christianity then just the salvation aspect?
God never limits us to that
God wants us to learn other truths … Like 66 other books worth of truths.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
3. In a growing faith there is guaranteed spiritual fruit.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Matthew 7:
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Colossians
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
4. The Truth of God’s Word gives us hope, perseverance, and encouragement after faith in Christ.
Romans 15;
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
5. All of the Bible is inspired and is meant to encourage and fuel our faith.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
6. The purpose of your life which includes defending your faith.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
7. There are many important Scriptural truths to be followed, learned that support the gospel foundation.
8. The chain of gospel links that forms the whole. You cannot deny one Biblical truth without effectively denying the others. Jesus is God … made his sacrifice effective. Resurrection of Jesus … reveals my resurrection is possible.

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.
