A Pearl of Great Price

Matthew 13:44–46 NASB95
“The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.
What is Jesus worth to you?

The value of something is determined by three things:

(1) It’s Importance

There is no other option besides Jesus

(2) It’s Worth

In Christ we have eternal life

(3) It’s Usefulness

Without faith it is impossible to please God.

To know Jesus is to know Him through the power of His resurrection which only comes after His suffering and His death.

Some people want the resurrection without the death.

Jesus was beaten and abused, He carried the weight of the sin of mankind.
Jesus’ death was prophesied for thousands of years.
Isaiah wrote of the Suffering Servant.

There is no Easter without a Good Friday

The surpassing value of knowing Christ is worth the discipline and the repentance.

Fellowship is the word Koinonia - participation, to share in
The term is accusative, it infers a reality from observable facts

Very few people volunteer to suffer

Boudreaux and the Golden Elevator
Conformed is the word symmorphizo - to be changed into a facsimile of another
Present, Passive sense
Romans 12:2 NASB95
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

When we are conformed to Christ, we fit!
