depending on who you are and how you view prayer dictates the weight this statement carries.
If prayer is what I do out of habit. this means very little.If prayer is what I do because it allows me to connect with God. this means much.
The magistrate is drawing his conclusion from the crowd, he is not searching for truth.
Paul and Silas are in between delieverance.
They have been severly beaten and mistreated.Now they are in the inner part of the jail.Although some bad stuff has happen they are still trusting God to intervene.
Inner part of jail and locked to stocks.
Doesn’t matter how bond you might be; God can still set you free.
Sometimes God allows us pain and uncomfortable position so we can’t sleep, and we have no choice but spend that time with him.
They were put in a place where only God could reach them.
The other prisoners heard them.
people are listening to our murmering and complaining.it’s hard to profess how good God is and proclaim the gospel at the same time.
Paul and Silas made no attempt to escape, which suggest God’s miracoulous work had a different purpose.
This is why you have to remember who you are while going through some stuff.
The focus shifts from Paul and Silas to the jailer.
Why would he attempt to take his life because of a natural diaster.the jailer knew this wasn’t a coincedence, it had something to do with Paul and Silas.
Paul and Silas put the gospel before there personal needs.
