Sermon at Gray Pond Baptist Church 01-20-2019

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Salvation, Need for

A little boy came running into the house after playing outside. His mother stopped him and asked what was on his right hand. He replied, “Oh, just a little mud.” His mother then asked if he was planning on getting it off his hand. He thought for a moment and said, “Sure, Mom. I’ll just wipe it off with my other hand.” There was only one problem with the plan, one dirty hand plus one clean hand equals two dirty hands.

Many people are like that little boy, they see the evil and wrongs in their life and think they can make themselves clean by bringing the good in their life to bear on the problem. But it doesn’t work that way. We all need a way to be made morally and spiritually clean, and we will never succeed in doing it ourselves. The only solution is to be found in the blood of Jesus Christ, which cleanses us from all of our sins.

*The way ---- hodos: THE way for traveling from one place to another, its singular. (BDAG).

-- Satan is “Lost” have you ever been lost? What does lost look like?

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, But the end thereof are the ways of death.

-ways don’t seem important till your lost, GPS during the Hurricane, one way from east to west of 95

-man would make his own way, trail to the river!!!!(cutting our own path) as Satan leads us deeper and deeper in the woods, out of the way in circles. Adam in the garden of Eden tried this with the Fig leaf in broad daylight, absolutely ridiculous!!!!!! Both Adam, eve and God were obviously aware that the glory that originally shone about them was gone, and they try their ridiculous attempt mimic that with a fig leaf. Can’t your picture them in your minds, well we look the same way when we try to use works, good deeds, tithes, anything other than the way God instructs to cover us up. That’s the WAY here. The way is JESUS, what He says, what He instructs, how He handled problems, encounters. We would try to build a ladder to heaven as in babble, looking around, listening to Satan, trying to logically get from point A to B. God is above the tree line looking down, while were guessing left or right, while we can listen to Jesus and walk the paths He has already went. You see No man can instruct us on this, because only Jesus has tracks that lead to death and then appear on the other side with the Keys to DEATH. Jesus came all the way DOWN to you, right where you are!!! We can’t go up any to him, but Satan will have us building space ships, airplanes, etc. trying to reach GOD when He’s been right beside you the whole time!!!!

8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

--Satan is a “the lie”

--What does a Lie “sound” like? “its just 1 time”, “no 1 will ever know”, “tomorrow”

We’ve never heard, that right? We’ve never lied to ourselves, right? You know that’s exactly what the devil wants!!!!!!!!

Again, ever since Eve believing Satan in the Garden people have been believing Satan lies ever since and questioning God!!!!

-- “Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart”

-- “…that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.”

-- “There is none that understand…”

--Have you ever been lied to and you really believe it?

-- For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

--Truth is not a program, a system, a philosophy, an equation, we can’t replicate it in a lab, Truth is a PERSON!!!! That’s the part the world can’t accept, and if you are not saved you are part of the WORLD!!! Its counter intuitive to what seams natural and what we’ve been taught our whole lives, that We can control our own destiny, that we are actually in control, yet without God we cannot take our next breath, FAITH doesn’t mean we ignorantly follow ideas or doctrine, it means that we place the explanation of the TRUTH behind the TRUTH!!!!!

*The Life --- Zo a’: Life in a physical sense

--Satan is “Death”

--Herd to appreciate LIFE without DEATH!!!

--What are your experiences with death?

Dad, and how death illuminates LIFE, no sharper contrast!!!

Look back at your yesterday and today so far, are you LIVING or just alive? Because there is a difference, what is your PURPOSE!!!! Why did Jesus save you????? If you’re not saved how long will you allow Satan to play you? How long will he keep you running in circles, watching the years pile up, watching your children grow up. Or maybe you thought you got saved, you cried a little, felt a little tingle and time has went by and you have NEVER changed, you never read the bible, God doesn’t interest you, NO PULLING, NO TUGGING, NO NOTHING!!!!!!!

*No man comes to the Father but by Me
