False Advisers

Behaviour
A person’s actions or way of life. Good behaviour alone will not earn salvation, but believers must practise good behaviour in accordance with Scripture as evidence of their conversion. Scripture stresses that bad behaviour is inconsistent with Christian faith and urges believers to mend their ways.
;
(KJV 1900) — 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
(KJV 1900) — 8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
(KJV 1900) — 3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
(KJV 1900) — 5 Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; 6 which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well:
(KJV 1900) — 12 Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.
Examples of bad behaviour
(KJV 1900) — 30 And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him.
See also ; ; ; ;
(KJV 1900) — 8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
(KJV 1900) — 5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
(KJV 1900) — 3 Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb.
(KJV 1900) — 14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
(KJV 1900) — 9 I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. 10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
Good behaviour towards God is commanded
(KJV 1900) — 2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. 7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Obedience to God’s word
(KJV 1900) — 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; And in his law doth he meditate day and night.
See also ;
(KJV 1900) — 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: And in keeping of them there is great reward.
(KJV 1900) — 1 ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord. 2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, And that seek him with the whole heart. 3 They also do no iniquity: They walk in his ways. 4 Thou hast commanded us To keep thy precepts diligently.
Good behaviour towards other people is commanded
(KJV 1900) — 12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
(KJV 1900) — 12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. 13 Thou shalt not kill. 14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. 15 Thou shalt not steal. 16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
(KJV 1900) — 1 Lord, Who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill? 2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, And speaketh the truth in his heart. 3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, Nor doeth evil to his neighbour, Nor taketh up a reproach
(KJV 1900) — 2 A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: But a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
(KJV 1900) — 21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Good behaviour does not earn salvation
;
(KJV 1900) — 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
(KJV 1900) — 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
See also ; ;
(KJV 1900) — 15 We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, 16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
(KJV 1900) — 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(KJV 1900) — 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Good behaviour confirms a believer’s profession of faith
;
(KJV 1900) — 14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto
(KJV 1900) — 5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: 11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Obedience to Jesus Christ and his teachings
(KJV 1900) — 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

A believer has died to sin and is alive to God
See also ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ;
(KJV 1900) — 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
(KJV 1900) — 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
(KJV 1900) — 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
(KJV 1900) — 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
(KJV 1900) — 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
(KJV 1900) — 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
(KJV 1900) — 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,

But the end thereof are the ways of death.

We need to understand in the last days are people that simply don’t want to fall under sound doctrine. Many simply don’t want to hear the truth.

Ps 1:1 Blessed is the man

That walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor standeth in the way of sinners,

Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Sadly, we have to apply this word as we go to Church. We have leaders that are not godly. Too often we find Pastors preaching while lost in sins and promoting doctrine that you can still be in sin and acceptable to God (even today the Methodist and Episcopalian denominations allow Gay Pastors). Bishop Eddie Long was known to have homosexual relations before his sermons - and preached to the world on TV.
At the end of all things is judgement and things that seem right to us aren’t necessarally right to God. It is God alone we should live to please.
In these days it’s easy to get caught up in to what feels good. Our whole society and the world as a whole is about taking care of self - and in so, doing only what feels good. We divorce instead of working things out. We stay under abusive spouses so the bills can be paid. We don’t discipline our children because we were told it teaches them to hit and be violent. We follow leaders that allow us to dress how we want, be what we are and live how we want. We want a “No Rules Gospel”. Ungodly leaders have maximized on this and cater topical sermons based on subjects to swing the masses in the door based upon desired outcomes and common goals.
I’ve come to tell you there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of the decision made by that outside of God’s Word will lead him to death and eternal damnation.
As it is written is Proverbs 14:12
12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, But the end thereof are the ways of death
But the end thereof are the ways of death

Live Your Life - Don’t get in their way!!

Which leads me to the second point in the paragraph: Nor standeth in the way of sinners. Good behaviour alone will not earn salvation, but believers must practise good behaviour in accordance with Scripture as evidence of their conversion. Some may ask why, scripture stresses that bad behaviour is inconsistent with God’s desire for us and our Christian faith. The way we carry ourselves is the best way to urge non-believers and backsliders to mend their ways. You literally give hope to others by living your Christ centered life before them.
Faith with works gives people hope as God provides them spiritual increase. This is best done in a way to not clash, nor trod upon sinners. You never want to be the reason someone says they’ll never trust God. Being a believer is a heavy responsibility and we need to treat it as such.
We don’t walk where the sinners do. In other words, we shouldn’t be found in the places where we shouldn’t be. You shouldn’t be found in the hills gambling, the nightclub holding an alcoholic beverage, as we are in Colorado, Marijuana club and dispensaries. Live your life - Don’t get in their way!! God has a way get breaking the camels back to get people where they need to be.

Know your pedigree:

We need to remember the viewpoint of unbelievers before you interact with them. Once a person knows you have faith and are a Christian, they will place you in a higher or lower place. You must be cognizant of this fact. When you ask most people they will tell you there is more to life than what we see. Most people have a concept of how we all came to existence. Our religion isn’t new, people know some of the underpinnings of our faith. When we speak, our words carry a certain amount of weight - whether we know it or not.
One of the things that can cripple a babe in Christ or even prevent someone from coming to Christ is to be scornful to them. Father’s that are in the word know about what it says in Ephesians 6:4

4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord

Until be can get the babe in Christ well trained and mature; and, certainly the unbeliever on board with Christ and mature. We simply can’t provoke people wrath while sitting in the seat of the scornful.
At the end of the day, we are in the influence business for God. Each one of us is a walking billboard for Jehovah via Christ Jesus. In the business world, studies have shown that a person will tell 25 people about a negative experience they’ve had with a company in verbal fashion. Now we have social media. Some people can tell thousands just by placing it on their wall. Facebook allows up to 5,000 people on a personal page. We are in a day where we must know our word and we must know how to act. Untold damage could occur with simple interactions with others. This is a time when we must know and live the way God wants us to. For all of us counsel is essential for gaining wisdom, but human advice is not always reliable. As such, God’s advice is necessary and the only trustworthy thing we can give. In all things we must give people God (not us).
