Hebrews 3:1–6 ESV
Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house. For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.

Hebrews 3:1-6
Hebrews 3:1-3
Moses was God’s servant, Jesus is God in the flesh. Moses led Israel out of bondage and slavery in Egypt, Jesus leads people out of their bondage to sin and death. Moses led the people into the wilderness and he died there, it was Joshua or Yehoshua who led the people into the Promised Land. As followers of Jesus we are currently living in the wilderness, freed from bondage to sin and death and awaiting our entrance into the eternal Promised Land of Heaven and it’s our Yehoshua or Jesus who will take us there.
Deuteronomy 18:15 ESV
“The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen—
Before Moses died he said that God would one day raise up a “prophet” like him and the people should listen to him (). This is the claim the Jewish people made after Jesus fed the 5k in John chapter 6. “When the people saw the sign that He had done, they said, “This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world!” (6:14)
before he died that God would one day bring a “prophet” like him to deliver the people. Moses gave the people manna, Jesus is the true bread from heaven who gives life to the world. Moses gave the Law, Jesus fulfilled the law. Moses introduced the sacrificial system, Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice for all mankind.
John 6:14 ESV
When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, “This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world!”
John 6:
God, through Moses, gave the people manna in the wilderness, Jesus is the true bread from heaven who gives life to the world. Moses received the Law from God on Mount Sinai and Jesus gave a deeper understanding when He taught the people from the mountain in .

Matthew 5:1-2
Matthew 5:1–2 ESV
Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
Moses gave the people manna, Jesus is the true bread from heaven who gives life to the world. Moses gave the Law, Jesus fulfilled the law. Moses introduced the sacrificial system, Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice for all mankind.
At the end of the Sermon on the Mount, a summation of all Jesus’ teachings about the kingdom, the people were astonished because He was teaching as one who had authority. Jesus, as the greater Moses, spoke the words from God and then lived them out. He truly was the Prophet who was to come, and we should listen to Him. In fact, that is what God said on the Mount of Transfiguration in regard to Jesus, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.” (Matthew 17:5)
So what has Jesus told us?
Look at and meditate on its implications.
