we have a problem in x, sin-fear-silence and secular-soft-timidness...
we need to address these things...
text...
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.”
40 So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.
41 And many more believed because of His own word.
42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”
43 Now after the two days He departed from there and went to Galilee.
44 For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.
45 So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they also had gone to the feast.
pray...
people who believed...
they had seen and heard...
not just due to her words but because they had experienced...
we need to do more than just talk about being christians, we need to be christians… little christ, let your love so shine...
talk example of practical living and ops as the church...
the fields are ripe...
juxtapose…
samaritians… heretics… more ready to receive...
vs
the jews...
43 Now after the two days He departed from there and went to Galilee.
44 For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.
45 So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they also had gone to the feast.
notice the word “seen”
jesus goes to those who should believe, but not honored… want more signs not his words… sounds like many believers...
43 Now after the two days He departed from there and went to Galilee.
44 For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.
45 So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they also had gone to the feast.
notice the noble man… someone connected to herod, not a jew… believes the WORD...
this is important for us a we need to believe the lord at his words and sign will follow, but unless we chase his word, we chase the wonders in vain...
if we want to see our community changed, we first need to see his word change us and then we can hope for the miracles...
what are jesus’ words...
turn from sin-overcome the fear
not a spirit of fear-power
go, im with ya
jesus comes thru always and when we do our part he reveals to us his majesty and we see him in his greatness...
52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better.
And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.”
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.”
And he himself believed, and his whole household.
54 This again is the second sign Jesus did when He had come out of Judea into Galilee.
he did the things he said...
he does them still today...
prayer...
altar response...
forgiveness of sins
fresh kick of the spirit
boldness and faith...
ALSO write down an idea to serve our community...
worship team back up...
