Q & A TO THE MOST IMPORTANT SUBJECTS OF THE BIBLE.

This morning I want to give some answer to some important questions that I have been asked about the Bible. I hope you will give me your attention. I hope this will help you understand, what I feel is the most important part of the Bible.
This morning we will look at 3 questions.
Why do we need a Savior?
What is Salvation, and how do I receive it?
What is Baptism, and what is its purpose?
We all need to know the true answer.
That’s what I’m going to give you today.

I. Why do we need a Savior?

Because of Sin entering into the world.
Genesis 1:1 KJV 1900
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis !;!
Genesis 2:15 KJV 1900
15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
Genesis 2:15–17 KJV 1900
15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Everything was perfected.
Genesis 2:15
I want you to notice that God commanded Adam not to eat the fruit of the tree good and evil.
Man was created on the sixth day
Eve hasn’t been created yet.
Eve hasn’t been created yet.
Genesis 1:26 KJV 1900
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So, Adam must have inform Eve about not eating the fruit of the tree good and evil.
Genesis 1:
Genesis 3:
Genesis 3:1–6 KJV 1900
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
iii. God later created Women what day, is unknown
Genesis 2:18–21 KJV 1900
18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. 20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. 21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
Because of this act of disobedience, our personal relationship with God was separated.
Genesis 2:21 KJV 1900
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
: 21-
A spiritual death.
Genesis 2:
We needed a way back to God.
Fortunately, when we disobey.
God is willing to forgive us and restore our relationship with Him.
The first Messianic Promise, or in other words the first promise of a Messiah.
A Savior
The promise of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Genesis 3:15 KJV 1900
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Genesis 3:15-
Lets break down .
“And I Will put enmity between thee and the woman”
He will do anything he can to get us to follow his evil, deadly path.
The word “Enmity” means: hostility, animosity, friction, opposition, feud.
WAR
Thee is Satan
The is Eve and her seed.
“and between thy seed and her seed”
Thy seed is Satan and the unsaved
Her seed is Eve, Mary mother of Jesus
“it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
This is a picture of the crucifixion.
Bruise they head shows Satan’s defeat when Jesus rose from the dead.
Bruise his heel refers to the repeated attempts to defeat Christ during His life on earth.
You can see that God was already revealing His plan to defeat Satan and offer Salvation to the world through His Son, Jesus Christ.
A. Now you see is a need for a Savior.
Some time between

II. WHAT IS SALVATION AND HOW DO YOU RECEIVE IT.

Salvation - Is the full delivery of someone from impending danger.
What caused this danger?
Sin.
Romans 5:12 KJV 1900
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Because of Adam’s Sin in the garden.
We carry his sin DNA.
What’s the impending danger?
Hell
An eternity in a literal burning hell.
What’s the Answer
Jesus Christ.
B. How do we get saved.
You must understand that you are a sinner on your way to hell.

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 3
Romans 3:10 KJV 1900
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
You must understand that God hates sin and there is a penalty, that God will impose judgment for those sins.

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:9–10 KJV 1900

Romans 10:9-
Romans 10:13 KJV 1900
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans
C. I don’t take Salvation lightly.
Being saved is the most important thing a person could do in their life.
More important than,
Buying a House,
Buying a Car,
Buying a Car,
Getting Married,
All those things are temporary,
Salvation is Eternal.
Salvation is all about FAITH.
It’s not about works
Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV 1900
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:
It’s FAITH
John 20:29 KJV 1900
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
John
Hebrews 11:1 KJV 1900
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV 1900
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
2 Corinthians

III. WHAT IS BAPTISM, AND WHAT IT’S PURPOSE?

First let me start by saying Baptism is not required for salvation.
Luke 23:39–43 KJV 1900
39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Mark 15:27–32 KJV 1900
27 And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left. 28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors. 29 And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, 30 Save thyself, and come down from the cross. 31 Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. 32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
Luke 23:23–43 KJV 1900
23 And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed. 24 And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required. 25 And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will. 26 And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus. 27 And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him. 28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. 29 For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. 30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. 31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry? 32 And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death. 33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. 34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. 35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God. 36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar, 37 And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself. 38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
:
You can clearly see that Jesus didn’t come off the cross and baptism the thief.
Mark 15:23
The church uses baptism as an ordinance for membership.
It show our obedience to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.
: 23-39
Jesus was baptized before He started His ministry on earth.
Matthew 3:13-
Matthew 3:13–17 KJV 1900
13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
When you get saved and follow up with baptism, you are telling the world you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as you savior.
If you are truly saved there is no reason to have to get baptized again.
