Man Sinned
In week one we looked at the fact that we believe that God exists and is able to communicate and in fact is communicating with man since his creation
In week 2 we looked at the fact that we believe that God created man in his image male and female and commissioned them to rule over Kingdom earth
This week we will discuss the consequences of man’s disobedience
The intention of God was that man would be in His image - having the capacity to choose freely their path
Love demands a choice!
Here we have man, now thinking that he can make decisions for himself in regards to good and evil attempting to cover his mistake by the work of his hands.
Built into each of us is a conscience, when pricked by our wrong doing it trigger a need to deal with the issue
In their case they could have gone directly to God and confessed their mistake but instead they try to hide it by covering by the work of their hands by covering their nakedness “They man fig leaves TOGETHER”
Some like to pass the buck to eve but its clear they did it together!
Today we have the same problem!
Man knows he is wrong but continues to try and hide the reality of that fact by making new laws and systems of governance which attempt to moralize his and her immoral behavior
This is what is sometimes referred to as “original sin”
That leads us to
Even creation itself was effected by man’s decision
Romans clearly states that one man sinned resulting in death for all to one man died resulting in life for all!
So here is where the controversy begins: What cleanses people from their sin?
Matt 3:6 “they came confessing their sin
Acts 2:41 “those who gladly received His words”
Acts 8:12 “When they believed”
Acts 8:13 “Simon himself believed”
It is clear from these Scriptures that Baptism is an act of obedience not a requirement of salvation and should be undertaken when one makes a commitment to the Gospel
So next week we eill talk about the redemption of through the death of Jesus Christ
