What is Mission / Missions
Define Mission of The Church, Mission of NWBC, missions
Mission of The Church - (Trevin Wax) The mission of the church is to go into the world in the power of the Spirit and make disciples by proclaiming this gospel, calling people to respond in ongoing repentance and faith, and demonstrating the truth and power of the gospel by living under the lordship of Christ for the glory of God and the good of the world.
The mission of NWBC (How do we live of the mission of the Church?)
To help more and more people become passionate worshipers and gifted servants of Jesus Christ.
Missions - Missions often involve sending individuals and groups, called missionaries, across boundaries, most commonly geographical boundaries, for the purpose of proselytism (conversion to Christianity, or from one Christian tradition to another).
(Wikipedia)
Why Missions?
Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church.
Worship is.
Missions exists because worship doesn’t.
Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man.
When this age is over, and the countless millions of the redeemed fall on their faces before the throne of God, missions will be no more.
It is a temporary necessity.
But worship abides forever.1
Because God is worthy of more than just worship from us
Because God has people in the world he intends to save and the church is his plan A,B,C
Are We All Missionaries?
It is the call of all Christians.
Not give or go, how far are you called to go.
