FRINGE BENEFITS
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:
"Give the following instructions to the people of Israel: Throughout the generations to come you must make tassels for the hems of your clothing and attach them with a blue cord.
And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:
When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the LORD instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do.
That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.
INTRODUCTION
The tassels will help you remember that you must obey all My commands and be holy to your God.
INTRODUCTION
Good morning, Southpointe Idabel campus.
What a great day this is you guys have come a long way.
From beginning in the Lyrie, to taking down and put up the equipment, to moving in the storefront and basically building a church on the inside.
To go from zero to averaging around 60 in one year and few months.
And now this: how about let’s just praise the Lord for a few minutes here this morning.
One thing that I do not let happen in my life or in the life of Southpointe, is the forget where we have come from to forget about the blessings of God.
Because, forgetfulness, it is a persistent human weakness.
We forget things we shouldn’t.
A husband forgets his wedding anniversary and faces some uncomfortable moments with his wife.
A mother forgets to pay a bill and the collector shows up at the front door.
A son forgets to mow the grass and has to suffer the punishment from his father.
We are forgetful.
The stress and pressures of living may even cause us to forget who we are and the privileges we have as children of God.
Some things are best forgotten but God does not want us to forget His faithfulness or the benefits we have as His people.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
