We are in this series transition… Last week was dealing with when God transitions us from a place of comfort to a place of challenge…
(NLT) — 13 But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son. 14 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There will always be flour and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the Lord sends rain and the crops grow again!” 15 So she did as Elijah said, and she and Elijah and her family continued to eat for many days. 16 There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the Lord had promised through Elijah. 17 Some time later the woman’s son became sick. He grew worse and worse, and finally he died. 18 Then she said to Elijah, “O man of God, what have you done to me? Have you come here to point out my sins and kill my son?” 19 But Elijah replied, “Give me your son.” And he took the child’s body from her arms, carried him up the stairs to the room where he was staying, and laid the body on his bed. 20 Then Elijah cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, why have you brought tragedy to this widow who has opened her home to me, causing her son to die?” 21 And he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, please let this child’s life return to him.” 22 The Lord heard Elijah’s prayer, and the life of the child returned, and he revived! 23 Then Elijah brought him down from the upper room and gave him to his mother. “Look!” he said. “Your son is alive!” 24 Then the woman told Elijah, “Now I know for sure that you are a man of God, and that the Lord truly speaks through you.”
Think about this passage for just a moment… At the start an amazing miracle!!
I love any and all miracles God does, but this one is really neat…
Think about it, there have been times in my life when God showed up and performed miracles in my life and those around me and they have become amazing testimonies, but that is all they are now, testimonies, stories of God’s power… Here in 1 Kings we see a miracle that is going on everyday for years!
KEY POINT- The miracle is still happening!
DEFINE- Elijah used this word Klh to describe the never ending flow of flour and oil. This word means it won’t fail, it won’t come to a stop, it wont finish, I can not be completed… This word in its normal context would describe what is immeasurable or impossible.
It is literally bottomless!!
Why flour? Why Oil?
Could God have not given her oil and grain in a much larger amount??
POINT- God was showing her that what seems insignificant is much in God’s hands.
POINT- Flour represents substance it is what is life giving
POINT- Oil represents what is protected what is anointed what is sacred
KEY POINT- For a believer we can know that when we are walking in a drought we will always have the spiritual substance we need, it will never run out, we will always have the presence of the holy spirit.
But isn’t it just like the devil to try to drop a bomb right in the middle of God’s provision…
MAIN POINT- There will be seasons in your life when God is meeting your needs in the middle of a dry season, but the enemy wants to discourage you and get you to run from God’s plan for your life. When God causes your brook to dry up move to what is next, but when the enemy tries to cause your brook to dry up take back what is yours!
I AM ONLY MOVING WHEN JESUS TELLS ME TO MOVE OTHERWISE I’M STANDING MY GROUND!!
HE MIGHT ATTACK MY LIFE, MY PURPOSE, MY HOPE, MY LOVE, MY HEART, EVERYTHING THAT I AM AND WILL BE, BUT THAT WON’T MATTER I ONLY TRANSISTION WHEN GOD TELLS ME TO.

1. The enemy will try to get you to move by attacking your future.

“This window loosing her only son ment that she would one day be left hopeless without anyone to care for her. Her future now looked hopeless, lonely.”

2. The enemy will try to get you to move by attacking your promise.

(NLT) — 18 Then she said to Elijah, “O man of God, what have you done to me? Have you come here to point out my sins and kill my son?”
“She jumps right to the fact that she had sinned”

3. The enemy will try to get you to move by attacking your heart.

(NLT) — 21 Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up inside. 22 I was so foolish and ignorant— I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you. 23 Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. 24 You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. 25 Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. 26 My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.

Conclusion…

Don’t allow the enemy to move you to intimidate you to steal your purpose
MAIN POINT- I’ll move when God tells me it’s time to move but until then I’ll stand where he told me to stand!
QUESTIONS-
Where has God called you to stand?
Have you experienced intimidation from the enemy? In what ways?
What will you do to stand your ground?
