Sermon Tone Analysis

Good morning, this morning were going to begin a 5 week series of sermons on the church needing Godly people.

We need Godly people, we need people who love the Lord, we need people who pray, we need people that love human life, we need people that love the gospel, and we need people that give.

So this is what I am going to be teaching on in the days ahead.

This morning I wanna talk to you about one of the greatest scriptures I think regarding revival.

All revival is is loving God with all your heart mind soul and strength.

Its when the Lord comes down and manifests His presence.

Thats what revival is… so I wanna talk to you this morning on this topic.

Godly People Love God that is godly people love revival.

Isaiah was living in a day when the Babylonians were crushing Jerusalem.

In fact by the time he wrote this Jerusalem the city of God had already been destroyed and leveled and Isaiah was mourning because of that.

He is crying out to God, OH GOD WOULD YOU PLEASE COME DOWN, Lord dont just look down, COME DOWN and be with your people.

Isaiah 64:2-

Gods people yearn for God they love God they want revival, and that’s where we are.

I want you to look at me and I want to tell you straight up we need revival.

We need people saved, we need people healed we need people set free.

The church in america is in trouble.

But I want you to know that God is a God who want His people to want Him, and to love Him.

There are many people in this nation that dont love God, dont love Jesus, dont love anyone who follows Him, dont love what I preach dont love what you believe.

The hope of america is not in the republicans hands or the democrats hands, or in the supreme courts hands, or in the presidents hands, the hope of America is in the church house, and whether or not Gods people want Him to come down and empower His churches.

Many of you have heard this passage:

Often times it is used by pastors who say to individuals listen the Lord is standing at your hearts door and He is knocking would you let Him in.

While that is true the context of that particular verse is that the Lord is standing outside of His church and He is knocking and He is wanting to have fellowship with His church but they wont let Him in.

If Christ does not come in to His churches our nation is doomed.

If He does maybe theres hope.

Godly people love God and they love:

WHEN GOD REVEALS HIS PRESENCE

Isaiah 64:2-

Look at that first word OH everybody say OH.

We have lost that in our prayers.

Rare do you pray OH GOD we just go to God and we God heres what i need today bop,bop,bop,bop in Jesus name I know that’ll get it take care amen.

What happened to OH GOD, OH LORD OH HOLY ONE.

Were missing Oh God in modern Christianity.

Job he suffered so much he had the oh.

Paul when He thought about the grace of God and the soverignty of God

We have lost the Oh we have lost the awe and reverence for God.

We have lost that.

Do you want your prayer life to go to another level quit saying God and start saying OH GOD!

But say it from the heart, the Oh comes from desperation, the OH comes from passion, the OH comes from feeling something.

What was Isaiah desperate for?

The presence of God

OH COME DOWN

He says look down but here he says COME DOWN FROM HEAVEN.

Whats HE thinking about here whats he talking about here?

He is going back to the OT when God came down on MT Sianai to give Moses the 10 commandments.

Exodus 19:16-

Sounds exactly like

Isiaiah is pleading with God for a real close encounter with Him.

Just like what happened when God gave the 10 commandments.

He loved God He wanted God to reveal His presence He wanted God to come down.

Its exactly what happened on the day of Pentecost Jesus had ascended to Heaven.

Jesus told His disciples He said yall stay here and dont you leave here until the Spirit of God comes down upon you.

for 10 days those believers stayed in the upper room and they prayed, and then it happened.

Acts 2:1-

ON the day of Petecost God did great things which they did not expect God came down the upper room quaked at the presence of God.

I’m telling you if you truly love god YOU LONG FOR THE PRESENCE OF GOD, IN HIS PRESENCE IS FULLNESS OF JOY!

IF YOU ARE A CHIRSTIAN AND YOUR HUNGRY FOR GOD, YOU WANT GOD TO COEM DOWN IN YOUR MARRIAGE, YOU WANT GOD TO COEM DOWN IN YOUR CHURCH, YOU WANT GOD TO COME DOWN IN YOUR OWN LIFE, YOU WANT GOD YOU DONT WANT JUST TO KNOW ABOUT GOD YOU WANT GOD,

and you dont just want Him to look down you want Him to come down and manifest His presence in your life.

Oh that God would do this in our lives in our homes in our churches in our cities.

IN our schools in our houses of government, in our halls of judgment, OH THAT GOD WOULD COME DOWN.

Godly people love god when God reveals His presence.

Godly people love God: WHEN GOD DEFEATS HIS ENEMIES

You say God has enemies.

Thats right there are some people who hate the Lord Jesus Christ.

There are people who hate you because you follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

We have enemies who are powered by the advesary Satan Himself because they hate the Lord Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 64:1-

verse 2 one of the reasons Gods people wanted God to come down was to make His name known to His enemies.

God does have advesaries.

He is saying I want them to know your name, I want them to tremble at your presence.

They have laughed at You long enough they are laughing that JErusalem is in ruins.

Oh Lord DEFEAT YOUR ENEMIES.

When you translate that into NT terms we are told by the apostle Paul that our real enemy is not people, our real enemy is the devil and demons.

Ephesians 6:12

Your enemy is not Donald Trump your enemy is not barack Obama your enemy is not your coworker or your ex your enemy is the devil and the demons.

Were in a spiritual war and thats why you have to pray.Its not just something you do when you really need something or when your feeling extra thankful and wanna just talk to the Lord NO, its a daily discipline that yo do first.

You do it whether you feel like it or not.

Because things will happen if you pray that wont happen if you dont pray.

Your family needs you men to start praying over them, they need your prayer protection dads they need for you to dress them in the whole armor of God everyday your wife needs for you to be a man of prayer sir, your wife needs that she needs a prayer filled husband.

You mam, your husband needs your prayers more than your cooking and all the baking and homemaking, He needs your prayers.

Your family needs a woman of God who spends time in prayer.

This church needs praying preachers, praying staff members, praying staff members, praying deacons, praying Sunday School teachers because when we pray we access God and when we access God HE COMES DOWN IN HIS POWER AND GOD DOES THINGS THAT HE WOULD NOT DO IF WE DID NOT PRAY.

god defeats his enemies, we need victories in our life that only god can give us.

God says hey Christian you got some enemies out there.

There are many athiest that hate us, because we believe in God and we believe in His Son Jesus Christ.

oh there are many Satanist and wickans who hate us because we believe in God and His Son Jesus Christ have totally defeated Satan and His demons.

There are many progressive liberals and they hate Christians because we believe that Biblical marriage is between ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN.

We also believe that an unborn baby is a living human being that is created in the image of God and should have rights to be able to live.

We believe that and they hate us because of it.

Many other religions hate us because we believe what Jesus said

Oh they hate us because we follow Jesus and we believe in the Bible.

But we have to love them.

They may hate us but were going to love them to Jesus, and were gonna pray Oh God let awesome things come down which we did not expect, save people, heal people, set people free from sinful strongholds, pull people out of the miry pit of their own sin, set their feet on the rock of the Lord JEsus Christ and the word of God.

Put in them a new song which comes from the Spirit of God living in them singing praise to their God.

COME DOWN LORD LET THE MOUNTAINS QUAKE AT YOUR PRESENCE LORD WERE ASKING YOU TO DEFEAT YOUR ENEMIES WHO ARE AGAINST THIS NATION.
