Hosanna means to save now, it is a recognition of who Jesus was.

The works of Jesus are bearing witness about him and will be what moves some to a believing faith while used by God as a witness and judgment due to others unbelief
How many times in worship services are individuals shouting and praising God over what they are hearing but lack true spiritual insight to what God’s words are really saying. They are excited in the natural but lack true spiritual ears and eyes in the moment.
Pharisees are discouraged and as the rest of the story goes prompts them on their mission to kill Jesus.
The loss of control and its impact on people and what extents they will go through to maintain control.

Hold on to the old,
Despise the new or different
Blind to others and the benefits that they bring
Basically, you resist change in any form that doesn’t favor you
It hardens the heart, dulls people to the voice God.
