The Word of Angels

Genesis 18:1–2 KJV 1900
1 And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; 2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
Genesis 18:16–22 KJV 1900
16 And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way. 17 And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; 18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. 20 And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; 21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. 22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord.
Who was Abraham talking to? The Lord
Who was Abraham talking to in the flesh as it were? Angels.
Angels were God’s messengers and carried with them, the authority of God.
“The kings message, when carried by the herald, is still the kings message”.
So angels, carring GFo0d’s message, had trhe authority of that Message.
So notiuce in Hebrews:
Hebrews 2:2 KJV 1900
2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
Under the OC, the word spoken by Angels, as God’s messengers, was authorative, and disobedience to their message, was taken as disobedience to God.
Now, since Christ is greater than the angels, Surley His Word should be MORE authorative than anything else.
Hebrews 2:1 KJV 1900
1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Jews considered the message of an Agel as the authorative word from God and trembled at neglecting it.
Now, we dont have a messenger telling us the Word, we have God himself, through Jesusc Christ giving us the word, and we should never neglect His word.
Hebrews 2:3 KJV 1900
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
We as Christians should understand that the Bible, is God’s Word to us, and is the highest authoprity, and should be obedyed withouit question.
1 Thessalonians 2:13 KJV 1900
13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
Now my question is this: Why does the Church not regard the Word as it is: The authorative Word of God?
We treat it like a motivational book, we obery the parts we like, but ignore or avoid the parts we dont. wew choose which commands are actually commanmds, we thing they are suggestins - they are not, they are commands.
Examples:
Evangelism...
Matthew 28:18–20 KJV 1900
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Tithes...
Malachi 3:10 KJV 1900
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be meat in mine house, And prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, If I will not open you the windows of heaven, And pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Forgivness...
Matthew 5:22–24 KJV 1900
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
search scriptures every day?
Acts 17:11 KJV 1900
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Fast?
Matthew 6:16 KJV 1900
16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
This is a small example.
John 14:15 KJV 1900
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
