Intro:

In this section, , we come to the heart of the Gospel according to Moses in the Book of Deuteronomy.

Many Christians think that the Mosaic Covenant is merely keeping the Law. And that is how they see the Bible too; they see it as book of rules to be kept. Nothing is further from the truth and we’ll see it in today’s lesson.

Moses asks and answers the most important question for a believer whether in OT or NT: “What does the LORD require of you?”

And the answer is given in 3 sets of answers: v12b-15, v16-19 and v20-22. Each set answers the question “What does the LORD require of you?” followed by a doxology and an explanation of why the request is reasonable.
