Evangelism = Going

Crowds of people were seeking Jesus, but Jesus knew that they were just interested in the miracles, not in what He had really come to do.Many people, even Christians, are more อยากรู้อยากเห็น/curious about God rather than wanting to truly KNOW God.
1 John 2 KJV 1900
1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. 8 Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. 9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. 10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. 11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake. 13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. 14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
3  And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
4  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
5  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
6  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
What do we see from these 4 verses?
If we know God, we have confidence = we know
IF we KNOW God, we obey God
If we obey God, His love is matured/completed in us = we are mature
What does that mean?
1 John 2:15-17
1 John 2:15-17
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
What/Who do you love more, God or the things of this world?
Do you make decisions based upon what you desire to do, to have or to be known as? Or do you ask, what would glorify God?

Our Jerusalem

Those that are in our families, coworkers, and community. This city is our Jerusalem!
We want to see people come to Christ as Saviour, be baptized in a believer’s baptism by immersion and then be taught the Word of God so that their lives are a reflection of God to this world and so God is glorified!
This is done by our witnessing...
This is done by our living lives that follow the Bible
This is done by speaking about what is right and wrong from a Biblical perspective instead of a personal, cultural or convenient perspective.

Our Judaea/Samaria

Judaea and Samaria were the areas that surrounded the city of Jerusalem. For us, we would say our province and the provinces surrounding us.
Since coming to Phitsanulok, we have gone to meet people to talk to them about Salvation in Chattrakan, Nakon Sawan, and close to Sukhothai. And, if I knew of someone outside the city who would listen to the Gospel, I would go there to talk to them.
If we led people to the Lord in Phichit, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, etc. I would want to do what I could to see a church started there as well! The central part of Thailand has very few Christians and even fewer churches.

Our Uttermost

This, I believe is any other country. I have talked to people who tell me that we need so many preachers here that we shouldn’t suggest people to be foreign missionaries…That is sin because it contradicts the Bible!

God’s Will

This leper recognized that his healing was dependent on whether or not God’s will included his healing at that time.
What we need to do is consider what our motivations for doing something are…
What does the Bible clearly say you should do? Are you doing that now?
Do you have a desire to serve God in a full-time way?
Do you see a need in the local church that is not being met, or you could be a part of that ministry?
Why do you want to move away from church and godly family and /or friends?
If we want to do God’s will, we need to change our thinking!

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Spiritual Needs Come First

Vs. 39 - Jesus was out in the towns and villages preaching the Gospel and casting out demons.
Even when Jesus fed the multitudes, they had been with him all day and were hungry because of the emphasis on the spiritual over the physical, so He fed them.
Many Christians will begin with the physical needs and the Spiritual is seen as the afterthought, the bonus, or the condition to prosperity. This is so backwards!
Many times, if we gained what we want, we would not follow God like we do now! We follow God because we realize we need Him!
One children’s home ministry I know of turned out the children of a poor widow, but took in the son of the village headman because he would give them permission to come into the village. The wealthiest man vs. the poor widow, who do you think Jesus would have sought to help? But, they did nothing, why, lack of faith in obedience to God’s Word!

Compassion moves to Action

Whenever compassion is mentioned in the Bible, there is an action with it. Otherwise it is NOTHING!!!
Don’t tell me, Be ye warmed and filled!!!

If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
And don’t tell me you are concerned for the souls of lost men if you never tell anyone about Christ!

Proper expressions of Compassion are lifting up, not handing out only.

Often, the generosity of people is wasted by making people dependant upon the help they receive instead of teaching them, first, the general Biblical principles of spiritual and physical life.
In the Bible, we see 4 types of poor people
Slothful - lazy, hasty to get wealth (includes debt problems because they didn’t want to wait, work and save).
Unfortunate events - earthquake, typhoon, etc.
Oppressed - communism, socialist,
intentionally poor - they made decisions to give away money or to use it in some other way.
