Living Water

1. Jesus appeals to the thirsty.

By standing up and crying out, Jesus is attracting attention to himself.

John 7:37 ESV

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.

2. Jesus encourages belief.

“Believes” in can also be translated as “entrust.”

John 7:38 ESV

Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ ”

3. Jesus promises the Spirit.

A future reality...

Jesus will be glorified.

Jesus needed to be glorified before the Spirit was sent.
