Welcome to my court room,

I am the judge of brother/sister relationships.
We have 2 offendants today.
Scenario 1 - You are accused of being mean to your brother/sister - Choose one - what’s their name?
Scenario 2 - You are accused of being mean to your brother/sister - Choose one - what’s their name?
Number 1 - Have you ever been mean to your brother/sister?
Yes
NUmber 2 - Have you ever been mean to your brother/sister?
Yes
T
So I find you both guilty -
I wnat all brothers and sister to always get along and becasue you have broken the rules,
you both require a punishment.
You both need to give your brother.sister a sweet when you next have one.
NOW - If i say so myself - I’m a good judge,
You if we break the rules, we expect to face a consequence and punishment,
And we are pleased with judges in this world when they give the right punishment for people who break the rules.
And that’s what the adults are learning later - about God
All of us have broken God’s loving rule - so we deserve punishment, from him.
And we find out in Revelation that God does punish and judge the world.
But God is still:

Great and marvelous are your deeds,

Lord God Almighty.

Just and true are your ways,

King of the nations.

And he is great and marvelous becasue he is just - he is fair - be judges rightly,
But he also gives us a chance to be forgiven instead of being punished.
GIve each brother/sister a sweet to give to their sibling.
You see, even though we don’t deserve forgivness, God offers it ot us himself.
Instead of punishing us, he punished himself - in the person of Jesus.
It’s like he’s given us a sweet for no reason, so we don’t face his right punishment.
So now, we even more celebrate God being great and marvellous!
SO, be nice to your brothers and sisters,
But more importantly,
Remember that God is great and marvellous when he punishes people who don’t accept the forgiveness of Jesus,
And he’s great and marvellous when we are forgiven.
