Galatians 6:1–6 NIV84
1 Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. 2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3 If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, 5 for each one should carry his own load. 6 Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor.
Spiritual Formation:

1. God expects more failure from me than I do of myself

I. God expects more failure from me than I do of myself.
We are not as strong as we think we are
We need an honest assessment of self

2. My acceptance with God is not based on my performance for God

His love for me does not diminish because of my sin
He loves me as I am not as I should be
The greater the weakness the greater the grace
Spirituality in the way of Jesus begins with the recognition of our own inadequacy

3. God is more committed to my spiritual formation than I am

2 Corinthians 3:1 NIV
1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of recommendation to you or from you?
(
2 corinthians 3
God will take us places where we would rather not go
Lead us through experiences we'd rather not have
He wants to remove our dependance on everything that is not Him
He wants us to completely be dependent upon Him
He does this in order to form us

4. Healing comes as we unmask the idols in our hearts and learn to embrace the gospel

You are God's temple
My identity with Jesus is connected to my relationship with others
We need to live all the "one another" commands
Healing comes slowly but persistently

5. Spiritual wellness of a community is directly correlated to the leader’s overall wellness

A fat priest means a blessed Israel
The taught must share with their teacher
You are blessed to be a blessing
