Introduction
Introduction
A couple of years ago Mike McDonald and I took a tour of Lucas Oil Stadium, the football stadium of the Indianapolis Colts. We got to see the ins and outs of the stadium and visit places that regular people like me don’t normally get to visit. We saw VIP lounges, the media press-box, we got to walk into the locker room, I even got to sit in Andrew Luck’s locker. But the entire stadium, the entire tour culminated once we stopped walking around the stadium and we walked into the middle of the stadium, the center around which everything in the stadium was built and built for. We got to walk onto the field, lay on the field (or the artificial turf), we even threw a touchdown pass. The stadium was cool, but none of it compared to walking onto field.
Transition: This morning we’re going to get a glimpse into the center of the God’s throne room. No more walking around the outskirts of heaven, no more Patmos, the 7 churches fade to the background, this morning we’re walking through a door that will open up the glories of heaven. We’ll find that all of creation was created for the purpose of worshipping the creator and worshipping the redeemer.

But when the angel tells John that the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the kindred of the great King David, John turns you would expect him to see a roaring lion, a ferocious conqueror. Instead, he sees a lamb. A slain lamb at that. The living creatures (the ox, the lion, the eagle), the elders, the angels, any creature in heaven seems more conquering than the lamb.
