John 5:10–16 NKJV

The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.” He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’ ” Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well. For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath.

Smoking

Freedom v. Slavery

We need to be a Church that welcomes and accepts all peoples at all times...

Doesn’t mean we condone sin, but that we welcome and introduce them to Jesus!

And we are not the ones to do the changing, we allow them to grow and then let the HS do the life change...

The man then went to the temple - how cool, he went to Church! When he was healed he knew where to go, people should know they can come here...

He wanted to thank God for healing him - BEST RESPONSE

This could have been the first time in his life he was able to enter the temple - Are we as the Church giving a bad first impression to first timers???

Jesus advised him to sin no more

Hell is worse than what he had already endured

Physical suffering is nothing compared to eternal suffering

Jesus loved the man and showed him mercy

The Jews persecuted Jesus continuously for healing the man on the Sabbath - Do we persecute Jesus by adding to his truth with our traditions...
