The Majesty of God in Sovereignty

The fullness of the earth
God alone stands as the sole possessor of the bounty of all of the earth
His right of ownership is singular and universal
His right of ownership is singular and universal
We do not own anything in the way that God owns all things.
We do not own anything in the way that God owns all things.
Consider how many wars have been fought in the history of the world over territorial disputes...
Consider how many wars have been fought in the history of the world over territorial disputes...
And yet God has the claim of Lordship over all things
And yet God has the claim of Lordship over all things
Do we give as though we truly acknowledge God’s universal Lordship? Why does an understanding of this impact why we must be “cheerful” givers?
Satan exercises temporary authority on this earth as the god of this world in the present evil age, and yet, it is a authority given by grant, not established by right
His offers while tempting Christ are therefore nearly comical
Those who dwell in the earth
Rulers, kings, governments in every age operate under God’s sovereign rule
Certainly then the average person is included in the proviso
all are therefore under obligation to God!
under this lens we see even more clearly mans rebellion against God
autonomy—we speak of the “rights” of man and the individual, but divorcing those “rights” from an understanding that they are “endowed” has had horrific consequences
“Second things second, don’t you tell me what you think that I could be, I’m the one at the sail, I’m the master of my sea! The master of my sea!” -Imagine Dragons, Believer
This ownership is total, not only in extent, but also in degree!
God fashions each person in the womb, numbers the hair on their head, determines their steps, establishes the sum of their days!
What then do we do with modern sentiments like “my body my choice”?
—>Reminder—the believer is doubly responsible to God, we have been bought with a price!
3. God’s sovereignty is revealed in His role as creator
-God’s rule is often vindicated by His authority as creator
-Again we see that creation is not a secondary issue

The Holiness of God in Worship (v. 3-6)

The character of God in Holiness is revealed by the character of the one who may come before Him and stand in worship.
What is the character of the man who would worship before the Lord?
Clean hands & pure heart
Both action and motive to be pure and blameless
One without the other is not acceptable
Proverbs 6:16–19 ESV
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
Proverbs 6:17 ESV
haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
ProverbAs a professional working in the real estate industry for a number of years, you interact with a few investors who are doing real estate the right way, many more who are not. Shawn is one of the guys who does real estate the right way. Shawn is a man of honesty and character, who not only is one of the smartest investors I have ever met, but is unique in his genuine care for people. He won't choose the deal that takes advantage of people. That's how our professional relationship developed into a great friendship. If you seek to work with someone who absolutely understands and has comprehensive knowledge of real estate deal-making, but who also has a heart for the people he does business with, I cannot recommend Shawn highly enough.
there is no other standard of purity before a Holy God.
how many lift unclean hands before a Holy God!
Leviticus 10:1–3 NKJV
Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord. And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.’ ” So Aaron held his peace.
