THAT’S NOT FAIR!!

Let’s remind ourselves of the Gospel.
Romans 3:23 NASB95
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
The glory of God- Perfection, Righteousness, Holiness.
Romans 6:23 NASB95
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Wages- Full payment of what is owed.
Romans 5:8 NASB95
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
We ask the Law to what only grace can accomplish.
Two realities of
We are sinners.
Christ paid the wages of my sin.
Ephesians 2:8–9 NASB95
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Principle- We must understand our need for the Gospel to see the need to preach it to our children.
Two extremes
Legalism-
Lawlessness-
As parents at times, we ask the Law to what only grace can accomplish.
Tutor Scripture
Galatians 3:24 NASB95
Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith.
I can’t change the heart of my child.
It is not my job.
What is my job?
Principle- Our Job as Parents is to expose their heart need for a Savior, and to be ready with the Gospel when the opportunity does present itself.
Parent them to understand their need for Christ.
“No matter how well I act toward my child, if he doesn’t transact with God, he won’t be okay.” Paul David Tripp
So the point is point ht
No one gives grace better than someone who understand the need for grace themselves.
How does the Gospel relate to the discipline of the child?
We must work to show the reality of sin, the wages of sin, and the gift of God through Christ.

Video- Paul David Tripp- 5 questions you must ask your children.

What was happening? (The Situation)

What were you thinking/feeling? (Thoughts of the Heart) Seed
