“When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.” We hold these truths to be selfevident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly, all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future PSALM 91 Security of the One Who Trusts in the Lord. 1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” 2 For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pesLlence. He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. 3 4 You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day; Of the pesLlence that stalks in darkness, Or of the destrucLon that lays waste at noon. 5 6 7 A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you. You will only look on with your eyes And see the recompense of the wicked. 8 9 For you have made the Lord, my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place. No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent. 10 For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, That you do not strike your foot against a stone. 11 12 You will tread upon the lion and cobra, The young lion and the serpent you will trample down. 13 “Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. “He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. 14 15 “With a long life I will saLsfy him And let him see My salvaLon.” 16 1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” 2 For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pesLlence. We need to acknowledge it, remember it and celebrate it! God has a lot of promises and protecLons for you and our naLon if we will run to Him, Abide in Him and take refuge under His shadow. God’s Promises for us are AMAZING! 1. "I will deliver him...” 2. "I will protect him...” (set him securely on high) 3. "I will answer him..." 4. "I will be with him in trouble..." 5. "I will rescue him..." 6. "and honor him..." 7. "With a long life I will saLsfy him..." 8. "let him see My salvaLon." See My salvation
