Consecration

What does it mean to Consecrate?

Consecration - is the setting apart of people, things, times or places to be sacred, for the use of God.

dedicated for a sacred PURPOSE

WHY- WHATS THE PURPOSE

When the Lord first saves us, we then become witness and living examples of Gods .. love.. mercy and grace… and for some examples of his healing and delivering powers..

As men and women of God… as disciples.. as the light world looks at..we maybe the only person that makes time to talk with someone who does not know God..

Joshua 3:5 NLT

Then Joshua told the people, “Purify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do great wonders among you.”

“Get up! Command the people to purify themselves in preparation for tomorrow. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Hidden among you, O Israel, are things set apart for the Lord. You will never defeat your enemies until you remove these things from among you.

When we come into the knowledge of the truth.. the knowledge of God we are then commissioned/ obligated to tell the world about him.

As men and women of God… AS disciples .. as the light the world looks at.. we maybe the only person that takes time to talk with someone who does not know God.

we must be sanctified and clean so that we can be in position to hear from God and be used of God. This way we will be speaking, acting on Gods behalf and not speaking or acting on our own personal agendas.

we must make sure anything thats in us that is not Holy, any hindrances that may keep us from receiving what God has for us, keeps us from hearing his voice and /or direction.

Psalm 51:10 NLT

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.

How do I Consecrate Myself

Fasting

Fasting is abstaining from something, usually food, because of a Religious commitment or as an expression of repentance.

Leviticus 16:29–31 NLT

“On the tenth day of the appointed month in early autumn, you must deny yourselves. Neither native-born Israelites nor foreigners living among you may do any kind of work. This is a permanent law for you. On that day offerings of purification will be made for you, and you will be purified in the Lord’s presence from all your sins. It will be a Sabbath day of complete rest for you, and you must deny yourselves. This is a permanent law for you.

Why

Isaiah 58:6 KJV 1900

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, And to let the oppressed go free, And that ye break every yoke?

isa 58:

we fast so that the flesh will become weak ..and become subject to the spirit.

Galatians 5:17 KJV 1900

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

There are also, other times fasting would be beneficial...

when you fast.. go without.. anoint yourself.. reframe from to much talking, laughing.joking.. but keep your mind.. focuse on God.. sing songs.. read the word .. pray..

Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
