Imago Dei. The Image of God. We are created in the Imago Dei the Image of God. When God had finished the works of heaven, sky, water, earth, and animal, God did something most remarkable. He created something that would be someone who would forever carry his image. God created us the image of God. This is hotly debated as to what it means exactly. Some may suppose that God has a physical image that we are mirrors of, most would agree that the image and likeness of God has more to do with personality and personhood than it does physicality. God is love, so we can love. God is creator, so we are creative. God is wise, and we learn wisdom. God is self-aware, and we have awareness. God is sustaining, and we are sustained. In God is life and we are living. God has his Will, and we have will. But, often times in order to understand God we limit God in all of his glory and characteristics.
