Vs. 7 Be sensible, alert, self-controlled; Be Clear-headed, sober-minded (The word is used to describe the demoniac of Gadara after the Lord delivered him. [{ }] He was unrestrained by authority: no man could bind him. He was unrestrained by moral values: he was naked. He was under an alien influence: dwelling among the dead. Delivered, he sat “in his right mind”. “The word connotes a cool head and a balanced mind to exercise self control … ” (Rieneker and Rogers).) When your head is right PRAY!

Vs. 10 each, every “one to another” (as above); gift - abilities graciously given by God for use in the serving of others
minister - to render service, fulfill the role of servant.
Stewardship - faithful and wise; unjust “give an account of thy stewardship”

Vs. 11 speak - God’s words through God-given ability, serve God’s people through God-given ability

Vs. 12 Beloved - I love you, as Vs. 8 you love one another; Think strange - The “Health And Wealth” gospel would cause this shock when the persecution of starts - fiery ordeal . The observant saint, however knows of the suffering of God’s faithful as listed in God’s “faith hall of fame”, plus many others whose lives are outlined in God’s word.
Vs. 13 Rejoice - “~beaten them~” And they (the apostles) departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

While we cannot have a part in the suffering on the cross at the hand of God that saves us, the suffering of the saviour at the hands of men before the cross we can share in. Partakers in suffering, then partakers in the joy at HIS coming.

Vs. 17 The Christian is judged with disciplinary judgement may suffer loss. It can seem severe but the unsaved being judged with absolute eternal condemnation will suffer unimaginable loss and pain.
