Did God create evil?

Question 1
The Bible unquestionably affirms God created all things.
John 1:3 ESV
3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:2–3 ESV
2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Col 1
Colossians 1:16 ESV
16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
The bible affirms that everything God made was good.
If God is good, and if God created all things, and if evil exists, then what does this say about God/evil?

The problem of evil is the achilles’ heel of Christianity.

Genesis 1:31 ESV
31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

How have Christians handled this problem?
This is where God has provided his church with men of keen intellect to give an answer for these questions.
Augustine - Says that evil is simply put the absence of good.
Augustine believed that God’s gift of freedom
"Free-will was the cause"
The scientific concept of “cold”. The temperature of an object is the measure of the heat energy that it contains.  More energy equals a higher temperature; less energy equals a lower one. When heat is added or subtracted it causes changes in the physical properties of objects like thermometers, asphalt, bread baking in the oven, or the tip of your tongue.   “Hot” and even“warm” are real and measurable quantities. Cold, on the other hand, does not exist.  There is no such thing as “cold”.  When you touch a piece of ice with your bare hand, the sensation that you feel is not the presence of “cold”, it is the absence of heat.

At first it might seem that if God created all things, then evil must have been created by God. However, evil is not a “thing” like a rock or electricity. You cannot have a jar of evil. Evil has no existence of its own; it is really the absence of good. For example, holes are real but they only exist in something else. We call the absence of dirt a hole, but it cannot be separated from the dirt. So when God created, it is true that all He created was good. One of the good things God made was creatures who had the freedom to choose good. In order to have a real choice, God had to allow there to be something besides good to choose. So, God allowed these free angels and humans to choose good or reject good (evil).

Evil exist because God provided man with the option to serve Him.
Evil exist because the choice to serve God exists.
Deuteronomy 30:19–20 ESV
19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, 20 loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”

Question 2

Do you think that the United States as a country will be around when the rapture happens? Do you think it will be destroyed before then?

I do not hold to a view of the end times that embraces a pre-tribulation rapture of the church as a distinct event from the second coming of Christ. I do not hold that Christ will come in the air and then 7 years later to the earth at his second coming.
I believe that the rapture of the church and the second coming of Christ are the same event.
1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 ESV
13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
In verse 17 we see the Lord in the air and we see the saints meeting him there.
Paul chooses his words very carefully at this point.

apantēsis is often used of an important dignitary’s reception by the inhabitants of a city, who come out to greet and welcome their honored guest with fanfare and celebration, then accompany him into the city

The things described as the rapture is not a departing of the saints from the earth but a welcoming of Christ to earth.

apantēsis is often used of an important dignitary’s reception by the inhabitants of a city, who come out to greet and welcome their honored guest with fanfare and celebration, then accompany him into the city

Matthew 24:36–42 ESV
36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. 37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. 42 Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
Matthew 24:

Question 3
If God created all things.
If evil is a thing.
Then God created evil.
Philosophy Classes
God Created Everything Good.
Evil is not good.
Therefore God did not create evil.

What does the bible say about marriage after divorce?

This is the rule!
Divorce and therefore remarriage is the exception rather than the rule.
In my opinion there are two biblically justifiable reasons for divorce.

Sexual Infidelity

Matthew 5:31–32 ESV
31 “It was also said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Abandonment

1 Corinthians 7:12–15 ESV
12 To the rest I say (I, not the Lord) that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he should not divorce her. 13 If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she should not divorce him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. 15 But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace.
Patterson said in the recording, "It depends on the level of abuse to some degree. I have never in my ministry counseled that anybody seek a divorce, and I do think that's always wrong counsel.
"There have been, however, an occasion or two when the level of the abuse was serious enough, dangerous enough, immoral enough that I have counseled temporary separation and the seeking of help. I would urge you to understand that that should happen only in the most serious of cases."
Patterson went on to note an example of when he counseled a woman to pray for her husband by his bedside and then one morning showed up to church with two black eyes.
"She was angry at me," said Patterson in the audio recording. "And she said, 'I hope you're happy.' And I said, 'Yes, ma'am, I am.' And I said, 'I'm sorry about that, but I'm very happy.'"
In the posted audio, Patterson then noted that the husband also showed up to church, repented of his behavior, and according to Patterson, he is now "a great husband today."
"Marriage as a picture of the Christ/church mystery means that spousal abuse is not only cruel and unlawful, but is all that and also blasphemous against a Christ who loves and sacrificed himself for his Bride."
Question 4

Where is the Soul in the Body?

The immaterial part of man; used interchangeably with “spirit.”

The immaterial part of man. The word Soul is a biblical synonym for “Spirit”.
Matthew 10:28 ESV
28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
The witness of the scriptures is that man is a unified being.
Genesis 2:7 ESV
7 then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.

Here Adam is a unified person with body and soul living and acting together.

When the the end of time comes we will experience a resurrection of the body. Why because God is not just saving your soul he saves you - Body and soul. You will not spend eternity as a disembodied spirit. You have a soul.
Question 5

When God made man he “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being” (Gen. 2:7). Here Adam is a unified person with body and soul living and acting together.

Does suicide prevent someone from going to heaven?

Suicide is a grave sin equivalent to murder (; ), but it can be forgiven like any other sin.
Colossians 2:13–14 ESV
13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.
John Piper
No single sin, not even suicide, evicts a person from heaven into hell.
And Scripture says clearly that those redeemed by God have been forgiven for all their sins--past, present, and future (). Paul says in that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
So if a true Christian would commit suicide in a time of extreme weakness, he or she would be received into heaven (). But we question the faith of those who take their lives or even consider it seriously--it may well be that they have never been truly saved.
That's because God's children are defined repeatedly in Scripture as those who have hope (; , ; , etc.) and purpose in life (; ; ). And those who think of committing suicide do so because they have neither hope nor purpose in their lives.
Furthermore, one who repeatedly considers suicide is practicing sin in his heart (), and says that "no one who is born of God practices sin." And finally, suicide is often the ultimate evidence of a heart that rejects the lordship of Jesus Christ, because it is an act where the sinner is taking his life into his own hands completely rather than submitting to God's will for it. Surely many of those who have taken their lives will hear those horrifying words from the Lord Jesus at the judgment--"I never knew you; Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness" ().
So though it may be possible for a true believer to commit suicide, we believe that is an unusual occurrence. Someone considering suicide should be challenged above all to examine himself to see whether he is in the faith ().
