Song of Solomon 1:1 CSB
The Song of Songs, which is Solomon’s.
Song of Solomon 1:5-7
Song of Solomon 1:2-4
Song of Solomon 1:2–4 CSB
Oh, that he would kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your caresses are more delightful than wine. The fragrance of your perfume is intoxicating; your name is perfume poured out. No wonder young women adore you. Take me with you—let’s hurry. Oh, that the king would bring me to his chambers. We will rejoice and be glad in you; we will celebrate your caresses more than wine. It is only right that they adore you.
Before dating make sure you are attracted to the person
Attraction is a good thing unless:
You are attracted to someone who is married
You are attracted to someone who is of the same sex
You are attracted to someone who is not attracted to You.
A survey taken in Germany revealed that if a man kissed his wife in the morning before leaving for work, he would: (1) live five years longer, (2) have 50 percent fewer illnesses, and (3) make 20 to 30 percent more money than one who doesn’t! - God on Sex
A Hook up is “a sexual encounter which may or may not include sexual intercourse, usually occurring between people who are strangers or brief acquaintances.” - Matt Chandler
Song of Solomon 1:4b CSB
Take me with you—let’s hurry. Oh, that the king would bring me to his chambers. We will rejoice and be glad in you; we will celebrate your caresses more than wine. It is only right that they adore you.

2. Before dating seek your friends and family approval.
Song of Solomon 1:5–7 CSB
Daughters of Jerusalem, I am dark like the tents of Kedar, yet lovely like the curtains of Solomon. Do not stare at me because I am dark, for the sun has gazed on me. My mother’s sons were angry with me; they made me take care of the vineyards. I have not taken care of my own vineyard. Tell me, you whom I love: Where do you pasture your sheep? Where do you let them rest at noon? Why should I be like one who veils herself beside the flocks of your companions?
3. Before dating deal with your insecurity.
Your worth is found in who you are in Jesus.
The only person that can fill the void in your heart is Jesus.
Song of Solomon 1:8 CSB
If you do not know, most beautiful of women, follow the tracks of the flock, and pasture your young goats near the shepherds’ tents.
4. Before dating make sure the person is attracted to you.
As in all scripture this scripture is primarily not about me and you. This Scripture as in all scripture points to a future shepherd King that will come and be our Savior.
