Water baptism physically confesses our spiritual baptism into Christ.
Water baptism physically confesses the spiritual baptism into Christ.
20 because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. 21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.

2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
1. Love one another.
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
2. Fellowship with one another.
Transition: This new life comes with a new family and we are freed to learn the new family norms. Truly the only possible way for us to faithfully follow Jesus is when we are committed to a local church, an actual body of believers. So here are the 18 one anothers of the new covenant, forever family.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
1 John
Love - -35; 15:12-17; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ;
3. Welcome one another with hospitality.
7 Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
rom 15.7
9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.
1 pet 4.
By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
4. Be at peace with one another.
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,
rom
5. Humbly submit to one another.
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you (1) that you should go and bear fruit and (2) that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another.
3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,
Phil 2:
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.
6. Honor one another.
10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
rom 12
Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
7. Be kind to one another.
32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
eph 4.32
and may the Lord make you (1) increase and (2) abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you,
8. Serve and be served by one another.
14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

. 9Do good to one another.
. 9Do good to one another.
9. Do good to one another.
Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another,
15 See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.
1th 5.15
10. Confess your sins to one another.
Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,
10. Confess your sins to one another.
16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
james 5.
11.Pray for one another.
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
james 5.
For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 .Comfort one another.
11 Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
2cor 13.11
13.Encourage one another.
And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.
18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
1th 4.18
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
14.Bear one another’s and restore one another.
1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
gal 6.1-
15.No longer judge one another.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
13 Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
rom 14.13
And now I ask you, dear lady—not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning—that we love one another.
16.Forgive one another.
32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
eph 4.32
Fellowship with -
17.Bear with one another.
I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
eph 4.1-
18.Build up one another.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship [κοινωνιαν] with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

19.Disciple one another.
Welcome with hospitality - ; ; ; ;
Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
rom 15
14 I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Eph 5:18-
Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you.
13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
heb 3.13
All the brothers send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
heb 10.
Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.
Greet one another with the kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in Christ.
Be at peace with - ; ; ; ;
John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he was not following us.” 39 But Jesus said, “Do not stop him, for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me. 40 For the one who is not against us is for us. 41 For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ will by no means lose his reward.
“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea. 43 And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. 45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. 47 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, 48 ‘where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’ 49 For everyone will be salted with fire. 50 Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another— 34 if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home—so that when you come together it will not be for judgment. About the other things I will give directions when I come.
which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, 25 that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.
Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
Submit to - ; ; cf.
And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, 2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Do all things without grumbling or disputing, 15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. 17 Even if I am to be poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. 18 Likewise you also should be glad and rejoice with me.
Honor -
Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
Be kind to -
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Serve - ; ;
If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Do good to -
See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.
Transition: The reality is that we won’t always do good to one another.
Confess sins to -
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
Pray for -
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
Comfort -
Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
Encourage - ;
Therefore encourage one another with these words.
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
Bear burdens of and restore -
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. 5 For each will have to bear his own load.
No longer judge -
Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
Forgive - ;
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Bear with - ;
I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Build up - ; ;
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
Disciple - ; ; ; ;
I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.
And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
