Ezekiel 37:1–7 NKJV
1 The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. 2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. 3 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.” 4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 6 I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ” 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone.

Intro

brought me out
this has been labeled the year to call it all in. for some it’s merely a tagline that Brady says or what we punctucate a service with. for others it’s become the mantra and faith building, life giving, world forming words.
there at least 3 reasons wed won’t see what we’ve been calling
1. faith will not be the level
2. not enough work to make it happen
3. we were never supposed to ask for it in the first place.
Come with and let’s look through Ezekiel’s eyes.
Israel has been taken into captivity as they’ve turned their back on God.
E has this burden…a fire in his mouth to release the Word of the Lord
Transition: All he sees is bones. Do you know how the story ends? Spirit of God gets into the bones and the bones begin coming together. BUT, this is clearly the miraculous of the text. How does this apply to me today?
Good news, you ‘ve got the same thing E had!
Romans 12:3 NKJV
3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
What will keep you from seeing the miracle happen in your life is if you don’t apply what you have.
Faith isn’t complicated. The difference in you and E is that you haven’t passed the test that E passed. Until you pass
2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
If you stop putting extra with your faith, you’ll move to the next faith project

Principle of Bare Bones Faith

It Sees Something

Ezekiel 37:1 NKJV
1 The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.
It sees the not yet. BUT, it can’t see the not yet until it’s shown the coming soon.
God does this with dreams, visions, prophetic words, in prayer, speaking to your heart, in His Word
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
This is what I mean when I say you’re adding to it.

It Does Something

Ezekiel 37:2 NKJV
2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry.
exek 37.2
James 2:14 NKJV
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
Don’t say you want a job, get up. “I’m a boss!” Maybe in training cause now, you’re punching in! Get you and education. Learn a skill. Get to work on time.

It Says Something

Ezekiel 37:7 NKJV
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone.

Romans 4:17 NKJV
17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
Romans 4:17 The Message
17 We call Abraham “father” not because he got God’s attention by living like a saint, but because God made something out of Abraham when he was a nobody. Isn’t that what we’ve always read in Scripture, God saying to Abraham, “I set you up as father of many peoples”? Abraham was first named “father” and then became a father because he dared to trust God to do what only God could do: raise the dead to life, with a word make something out of nothing.
rm 4:17
’m really just saying what God has already said.
Psalm 119:89–91 NKJV
89 Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. 90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides. 91 They continue this day according to Your ordinances, For all are Your servants.
Psalm 119:89-
Transition: When you understand the Principles of Faith, you can grasp the Potential of Faith. E has a thorough understanding of what’s going on.

Potential of Bare Bones Faith

Ezekiel 37:2 NKJV
2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry.
ezek 37:
how “in an open valley”
many “large indefinite #”
dry “no life”
God works best in big desparate situations
He was going to flip the script - turn it around
ex. 1 David - Jesus had to come
ex. 2 Disciples other side - Gaderene demoniac
ex. 3 Lazarus - “that my glory may be seen.”

Perspective of Bare Bones Faith

They’d been pillaged by the Babylonians. But they still had a promised over them.
App: In the face of horrible, believe what He said. If you don’t look at it from your perspective, you’ll never see what He intends for you to see.
Ezekiel 36:11 NKJV
11 I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bear young; I will make you inhabited as in former times, and do better for you than at your beginnings. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.
Ezekiel 37:2 NKJV
2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry.
If you don’t look back to what He HAS said, you won’t say what He wants to show.
I see vs. YOU see
You see - Jonathan helser
I see a seed - YOU see a harvest

I see broken - YOU see YOUR body

he’s separated from himself.
vs. 1 “and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down.” - a vision
app: Sometimes God has to take you out of you to get you to wee what you
Pt. God has to separate you to insert something into your spirit

New Edition
To a degree, the old folk had it wrong to Jesus is on the main line - He’s not going to give u another woman’s husband
Ezekiel said ‘I don’t know but you do!’
Impossiblity didn’t translate into adversity
What he was seeing had nothing to do w him!
there was a greater promise attached to what he could’ve seen as a problemEx David had to make it out of everything cause Jesus was a larger promised overshadowing a smaller problemDisciples had to get to other sideIll:
