Prayer is Important

Jesus’ teaching is not IF you pray but WHEN you pray. Prayer is important to God.
Pray without ceasing. KJV
Do not be as the hypocrites - praying, not for relationship with God, but for acclamation of man.
Matthew 6:6 NASB95
“But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

Prayer is Relational

Prayer is relational. True, effective, godly prayer is not about being seen or heard, but about having a conversation with the Almighty God.

In this day, the Gentiles prayed to their gods with repetitions and chants thinking that it would move God.

If you want to move God, you must be sincere.
God knows what you need.

Christ’s Model Prayer

Father - prayer is about the relationship with have with the Almighty God.
Hallowed - holy
Prayer should start with praise.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. KJV
Entrusting God with our daily needs.
Matthew 6:12
Asking for forgiveness and acknowledging the forgiveness that we have given to others.
If you cannot admit that you have forgiven them, you haven’t really forgiven them.
Asking for God’s protection.
Again praising God and giving Him glory.
Amen: so be it - a picture of faith that God will answer your prayer.
