God’s plan for your life.
Romans 8:28–30 CSB
28 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; and those he justified, he also glorified.

God’s plan for you is to look like Jesus.

Think back to when you were a child. When you were a child did you have plans for your life? Was there ever an imagination of what life would look like when you “grew up”? I have distinct memories of my growing up years - it was a relatively young age that I felt the call to pastoral ministry. In fact, it was at one of our own camps. I can remember where I was in the room and the sound of God’s voice in my heart. I can also remember as I moved into high school and discovered other interests sitting in the back of my best friends car declaring that I would someday be a pastor, a lawyer, and the President of the United States. I was a fool-hardy kid.
As life took shape and led me to a little Bible college in the prairies of ND. I can remember hearing the stories of ministry - rumors of conflicts and tales of victory. I pictured in my mind conflicts that were born of great ideas. Victories heralded by those around me. What I’ve found more often are conflicts born of hurt feelings and unrealized expectations. Victories unheralded and unnoticed - met with shrugs and patronizing pats on the back. I imagined grandiose plans that God had for me and it’s true that His plans are grander than mine. What I’ve discovered along the way is that His plans aren’t about me, but they are plans that are for me.

God’s plan for you is to look like Jesus.

What I’ve discovered
Romans 8:28–30 CSB
28 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; and those he justified, he also glorified.
What I’ve discovered along the way is that God’s plans are for me to look like Jesus. “For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son...”

1. summorphos (συμμορφός, 4832), akin to A, signifies “having the same form as another, conformed to”; (a) of the “conformity” of children of God “to the image of His Son,” Rom. 8:29; (b), of their future physical “conformity” to His body of glory, Phil. 3:21. See FASHION.¶
