Introduction

We have made our way through the entire New Testament now so here we are with our last lesson in Revelation.
We began in the gospels looking at Jesus’ ministry. He build close relationships and made friends who He eventually passed His ministry onto, He taught people about God’s plan for their lives. He taught people that sin separated them from God and that they needed to repent. They needed to ask God for forgiveness of their sin and give their lives to Him.
The most famous sermon Jesus ever preached was called The Sermon on the Mount. It was an awesome sermon in a lot of ways, but one of those amazing things was that He made God the Father’s will seem so simple in a bunch of practical ways like

Salt and Light

Divorce

Retaliation

Love Your Enemies

Giving to the Needy

The Lord’s Prayer

Lay Up Treasures in Heaven

Do Not Be Anxious

Judging Others

Ask, and It Will Be Given

The Golden Rule

A Tree and Its Fruit

I Never Knew You

Build Your House on the Rock

Jesus laid this sermon out in a way that showed that the life of a Christian is going to be drastically different than that of anyone else.
He is showing that following Him is else than following anything else in the world.
“If you choose to live your life the way you were created to live it then you are fighting all other distractions like, you will choose to follow Jesus...”
Even when the world around you does not
Even when your friends dont
Even when you are angry
Even when you want to look at pornography
Even when you want to lie
Even when someone is a jerk and you want to be a jerk back
And put Him first in your life.
The reason we are moving so quickly through all of this awesome stuff that Jesus gave us as guidance to live our lives is because we are not totally focussing on that this morning. We are going to focus on the outcome of a life that lives for and with Jesus.
Sometimes we focus on the past a little too much when it comes to talking about the Bible. Well, this morning we get to shift our focus from the past and onto the future.
When Jesus appeared to John and spoke to Him, Jesus showed John something that makes you think about things a little differently.
The first thing we are going to look at is the awesome reward that we get to receive one day.

21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

This is God’s plan for the future. We are going to look at what God has planned altogether and then we will look at each item on this awesome list.
Look at verses 3-4 and find 6 things that will be different about life after Jesus returns.
God is with man v.3
What does this mean?
. He will wipe away every tear v.4
He will wipe away every tear v.4
2. He will wipe away every tear v.4

Death shall be no more v.4

There will be no crying v.4
What does this mean?
There will be no pain v.4
There will be no pain v.4
There will be no pain v.4
What does this mean?
There will be no
After pointing out all of these things that God has planned we have one big question to ask. This question comes from one word in verse 4. “Their”. John is making it very clear that the description of this awesome world.
This is answered by what we see in

8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

The difference in the description from the beginning and the end of is the heart of the person these words describe.
One description is for those who follow Jesus as their Lord and give their lives to follow Him. They inherit eternal life
The 2nd description is of those who chose to live their lives without following Jesus. As a result, they do not inherit eternal life. Instead, they burn in Hell forever.
My challenge to you is this:
Which of these fit you?
