Mike probably didn’t even realize that he was on a journey of transformation. Just like that Nazarene Church they went to did not realize they were preparing the Brands to be an important part of our local Church.
Many times it is not until we look back on our journey that we see God at work transforming our lives. That is why it is important at to look back at the difficult times in our lives and see how it makes us better.
I think I have told you how difficult financially my life was at times growing up. My Dad was pretty impulsive and those decisions affected me greatly.
Wednsday is Ash Wednesday and we will begin to look back at the
I could not understand my Dad’s impulsiveness growing up…it did not make sense and it really made life hard...but as I look back it is the memories of these difficult times that keeps me from making some of the same mistakes he did.
I am not saying God did this to teach me a lesson…I do not believe that. My dad was responsible for those choices.
My hard time growing up prepared me
What I do believe however is that the Holy Spirit was with me during those times and taught me how to overcome those things.
It was hard and painful but I have allowed God to shape me and transform me during these times in my life.
God’s mystical presence is often overlooked during the busiest and most transformational times of our lives.
Hope is born out of continuing to trust God even when everything is falling apart.
No one understood this more that Moses. Moses has been through a lot before this passage…he Led people out of Israel…he was given the law by God…he threw down the law and broke the tablets when the Israelites made a Golden Cow while he was getting the law from God
Moses Wanted to Give up and God wanted to give up to and start over with Moses…not by killing off the people but by starting over.
Moses argued with God to continue to choose Isreal.
Then gets the Law again and this is where we pick up this story.

29 When Moses came down Mount Sinai carrying the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, he wasn’t aware that his face had become radiant because he had spoken to the LORD. 30 So when Aaron and the people of Israel saw the radiance of Moses’ face, they were afraid to come near him.

31 But Moses called out to them and asked Aaron and all the leaders of the community to come over, and he talked with them. 32 Then all the people of Israel approached him, and Moses gave them all the instructions the LORD had given him on Mount Sinai. 33 When Moses finished speaking with them, he covered his face with a veil. 34 But whenever he went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with the LORD, he would remove the veil until he came out again. Then he would give the people whatever instructions the LORD had given him, 35 and the people of Israel would see the radiant glow of his face. So he would put the veil over his face until he returned to speak with the LORD.

Moses did not even know that God had changed him....Time spent in the presence of God is the most transformative thing in our lives even if we are not aware of it.

Time spent in the presence of God is often a transformative thing that we may not be aware of.
I remember when I first accepted Jesus as my saviour. I remember how great it felt at the time but it was not until people started telling me how different I was that I began to understand that God really did change me.
When you and I are in the presence of God it cannot help but change us…people will notice and if they are not noticing something different about us we need to go back to the mountain.
To prayer to the scriptures and to fellowship with other believers. This is the best way to draw close to God today.
If you are not transformed by Jesus you will be assimilated into the world.

Gods presence on Moses scared the people. Because of this Moses had to let them know it was ok…often When the presence of God is on us it make others uncomfortable so it is up to us to invite people to us.

Many times when God transforms our life people that see it are scared. They mask it with anger, or by keep us at arms length. Not because they hate God or faith but they do not know where they stand with us…

At this point it is important that we let them know there is no judgement of them but and opprotunity to experience the same joy as we now have.

God still uses Moses to lead His people…Even if people are uncomfortable with us God has the ability to draw them close to Himself using you.

The less we are in the presence of God the less glow we have…If you want to attract people to God you must seek Him more than you are seeking the things of this world.

The less we are in the presence of God the less glow we have…If you want to attract people to God you must seek Him more than you are seeking the things of this world.

This is not an indictment as much as an observation from over 20 years in ministry and 31 years as a Christian.
We live in a culture that finds ways to stay at arms length from God. There is always a reason to not Gather for Worship
There is a sense that there is no need to Grow in the knowlege of the Word of God
Service is deemed inconvenient,
And there is defiantly a fear of Multiply the Kingdom of God.
The problem is that if we are not committed to these things we will soon trade the Glory of God or the Mystical Presence of God for the insignificance of this world.
You are not made for insignificance…You are Made to be Transformed by the Glory of God.
Come to the Table and experience the transformational presence of God...
