Let me ask you brothers and sister, do you have hope?
Now before you answer i want
you to really think about this question.
In an effort to assist you on honestly answering
the question allow me to give you some insight on what hope is.
While it carries with it
many different meanings that I dare not go through them all the ones that i believe will
benefit us are these.
Hope is to wish for a particular event that one considers possible.
Hope is to have confidence; trust.
Hope is the longing or desire for something
accompanied by the belief in the possibility of its occurrence.
So with this
understanding allow me to pose the question again, do you have hope?
Now if you still
are unable to answer the question, allow me to further help you out, because may
those definitions were to much to process right now.
Hope is one of the finest
responses of which the human spirit is capable.
Hope has kept people (You and Me)
alive and buoyant (afloat) when life seemed to fall apart at the very seams and we
didn’t know which way to turn and its conditions seemed unbearable.
But we just give
all the credit to hope, because hope by itself is simply a wish.
But when hope is poured
into and based upon something or more importantly someone (Jesus) it becomes a
source of strength.
So then, we can say like the hymn says my hope is built on nothing
less then Jesus blood, and righteousness I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly
lean on Jesus name.
On Christ the solid Rock I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.
So my hope is not built on what people say, hope people feel, the promises that people
make but it is built on Jesus Name!!! Thats why when you say his name you start feeling
better, thats why when you call his name you weakness is turned into strength, when
you call his name your tears or sorrow become tears of joy.
That is why I can stand flat
footed and say no matter what comes no matter what goes still I will remain, because
my strength/ my hope is in Jesus!
As long as I have Jesus I have everything that I need.
