New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update Psalm 103
1Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
2Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;
3Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases;
4Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
5Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
Introduction
Introduction
Many people have a tendency to go to church and just sit there and listen to music and listen to a sermon. But in the Bible, worship is more active. calls us to “Bless the Lord” which means the same as giving Him worship. Real worship is not a passive sitting and waiting for the end of the service, but getting involved with our whole being, “all that is within me”. There is so much that God has done for us, and our worship never has to end. In this Psalm, David tells to not forget anything. But we do, don’t we? Here is what David says:
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
and all that is within me, bless his holy name!
3 Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases;
4 Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and
compassion;
5 Who satisfies your years with good things,
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
The call to “bless the Lord” is a call to worship the One who has created and blessed us with so much. But it isn’t a casual worship where we sit there and listen to someone talk. It’s an active worship where WE are the ones doing the talking and thinking (meditating) on all that God has done for us. Don’t leave anything out!

And forget none of His benefits;
who heals all your diseases,
