A perfect/easy life - Jesus calls us to take up our cross and follow Him
Ourselves - our goodness is like filthy rags, all have sinned
Why We Can Have Hope!
Why We Can Have Hope!
As part of the worldwide body of believers in Jesus, what can we put our hope in?
When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.
Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we can have hope.
Jesus won the war, or great controversy, against Satan. This victory was achieved through His death on the cross for you and me. And His resurrection can give us the hopeful assurance that God has the power over death!
Our Adventist Hope
Our Adventist Hope
Part of our name - Adventist. We look forward to the advent, or the appearing, of Jesus.
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

2 Cor
For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.
As the words of that great Adventist hymn suggest, may each of us be able to say “We have this hope that burns within our hearts, hope in the coming of the Lord.”
