CHILDREN’S MESSAGE - The Broken Egg
The Challenge for us today as we think of prayer is to remember that Prayer is not a last resort but a fool proof guarantee.
Hannah’s story is one of brokenness.
Relationship with Elkanah was broken
Relationship with Peninnah was broken
Relationship with hope was broken
Five key areas of prayer through brokenness.

Sorrow - 1 Samuel 1:15

Deal with the reality of the moment

Recognize what is contributing to the brokenness

Don’t try to disguise, deny or drown your sorrow

Surrender - 9

Know your limitations

Accept that God doesn’t OWE you a certain result

Trust that His ways are better than yours

Supplication - 1 Samuel 1:10

Be honest before God about the desires of your heart.

Be specific in your request to Him for your need.

Learn to differentiate between your desires and your need.

Sacrifice - 1 Samuel 1:11

You cannot live for your desires, you must live for the Lord!

Be willing to give your hearts desire to the Lord.

Give God the best you have to offer!

Satisfaction - 1 Samuel 1:17-18

Know that God’s answers are always better than yours.

Find your contentment in what God provides, even if you only get to experience it second-hand.
