Introduction
Where do you start when it comes to prayer?
Where we start or how we approach prayer will affect tremendously how we pray.
We start in the knowledge that God desires prayer.
An Ancient Desire (Psalm 65)
David’s words remind us that God desires to converse with us
David was without the new covenant; David himself was a sinner; yet God’s desire for prayer is without question in his life
There is no “righteous requirement” to be allowed to talk with God
Deep in the Presence (Hebrews 10:19-23)
Okay, but God is still Holy (and not even just holy or holy holy)
Jesus opens the way to God’s presence in our lives
We are to enter into prayer and intimacy with God
The Show Must Go Off
Why does this matter?
Too often, we may approach as if there is a righteous requirement, a specific formula, or that God is far off and needs to be called down
A video to demonstrate the different approaches
