Matthew 7:1 (“Do not judge, or you too will be judged”) seems to have replaced John 3:16 as the most well-known Bible verse by non-Christians, and it is almost always taken out of context and misapplied. For example, protesters supporting a homosexual lifestyle picketed a convention of Christian men trying to recover biblical values for their families, and they paraded this verse on their posters without any awareness of Matthew 7:5 (“First take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye “).
