Chapter 1

1. Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy the brother, to the congregation of God that is in Corinth with all the holy ones who are in all of Achaia:
2. grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
4. who comforts us in our every affliction, so that we can comfort those who are in every affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
5. For just as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, so through Christ our comfort also abounds.
